Thinking of buying a rebuilt 2018 m2 that has 14k miles. He is asking $35k and kbb is saying without a rebuilt title it would be $51k. The seller is assuring me that it didn't have any frame damage but I plan to get it checked out by lemonsquad. I have attached pictures of damage and after it was repaired. One the pics shows a wheel and I am wondering if it's repairable.

IMO if you need to ask a forum about this, the answer is no. And I don’t just mean the wheel, I mean the whole deal.

You either know what you’re getting into and are down to clown, or you’re not. This feels like the latter.

I would pay to have a proper PPI done with a specific request to inspect the damaged areas more closely.

Hard to believe with a hit in that area that caused the M2 to be totaled that there wasn’t frame damage.

Ask to see the body work paperwork. Seller can't produce it? Run. Fast. And start looking at cars with no stories.

I would not touch that car with a pole the length of Texas. Find something else OP, just my two cents.

Run away... I can already see that the hood, bumper, and headlight don't line up on the hit side. Also check to see if your insurance company will let you insure it. My insurance company will not insure a car that had a salvage/rebuilt title.

Dude...what are you thinking?!! Are you a licensed mechanic? Do you own a body shop? Do you like to throw money away? If it’s a budget thing keep saving until you can find a no story car.

If there is no frame damage, may make a good track car for someone… I wouldn't mess with it otherwise. It will be a pain in the ass to sell in the future, opens you up to all sorts of headaches, and like others have said may not even save you much cash when it's all said and done.

If you want an OG M2 and you can't swing $50K (ridiculous, but that's the market), I would consider this for $32 or $33K with test drive and PPI.

You would have to pay cash (do any banks loan money for rebuilt titles)? I'm not sure what the market is for selling rebuilt titles, but if it turns out you made a mistake and regret it, you have to be willing to unload it cheap and take a $5K loss.

Edit: I wouldn't want this for a daily driver, but would consider it for a project/fun/weekend type car.

I'd consider it at 30k mark. Cheap enough to take the risk. 35 is a little much.
