Agency Power Front Mount Intakes Installed
Went to Gintani today to have my front mount intakes installed on the M2C! Overall I'm very happy with the installation and Gintani's service.
The sound inside of the cabin is the same(if not quieter) than stock. Open the windows and you hear this intoxicating induction and spool broadcast loudly. Engine feel is about the same, although they did say the ECU will adapt slightly and change over the next few days. During the one hour I've had driving since install, I've already had two people ask about the intakes. Personally I think they look good and serve as a cool talking piece. If anyone has questions feel free to ask away! |

Those look cool and I love that they directly draw cold air (not like the stock airboxes that are snorkel-less) ... A little worried they block the radiator a bit... But if you're not tracking the car, that might not matter.

Or drive around sandy areas or pretty much any place where the air is full of micro particles
Iirc, a guy from UAE had these aftermarket front intakes and his engine had a lot of issues after It's definitely a cool mod though, just not something you wanna keep permanently installed |

This isnt' relevant to the intakes, but where did you get the tri color portion on the grille? Did you buy a whole new grille from IND, or did you have it wrapped? If the latter, what colors did you go with? |

The M2C is cool thought because due to the grille's angle, you can see the colors in side pictures |

UPDATE: This quickly became a disaster. To summarize - Agency Power Front Mount S55 Intakes DO NOT work on the M2 Competition.(properly)
To be fair, I knew I was taking a chance with this install. Technically, they aren't meant to fit on the car, but I've seen it done on the forums. No hard feelings to Gintani because the install was done correctly and for a fair price. After about 4 hours of total wheel time, I started to notice a new noise akin to a brake shuttering/vibrating. It only appeared when turning right or braking 10mph-to-zero. I popped the hood and, after some head scratching, realized the plastic driver's side intake piping was rubbing against a pulley. I could feel a chunk worn out of the piping. The last thing I wanted was to have a belt snap on a 5k mile car. Got it home and tried 50 ways to jerry rig it to work, and it was doable, but not to any comfortable standards. I eventually decided to cut my losses and began disassembling everything. Took the front bumper off, swapped back to the OEM airbox, took out the charcoal filters, installed some IND reflector deletes, and called it a sad end to the day. Holy sh*t was four hours of driving like an prick fun though, the noise was addicting. |
