Is it a hassle to connect and disconnect? Just curious why people keep it connected. It seems like you would connect, code and disconnect.
I disconnect mine and replace it with my blue driver obd2 scan tool. Aside from a code reader and clearer, Lots of useful info displayed on my phone like oil temp etc.

Has anyone managed to find a way to code an image of an M2 rather than the generic 2 series that idrive shows?

Today I made progress in coding the ACSM ECU, which allows coding the seatbelt chimes and I also improved the overall coding stability. But honestly I am not sure, if I should include this ECU in the app, because it is highly safety-relevant. One could, for example, switch of the airbag, what would be absolutely the worst case ...

Thanks!!

When you have ready the update??Days ago i see that:

Update: Been trying out a test build for Stephen the last few weeks and confirm a lot of more good stuff is on the way. Including: Idrive 6 Lite UI, Screen Mirroring (for android devices), and Video in Motion (up to 39MPH for ID5). All working for MY2017s with ID5. Should be coming out soon for release!

Is there anyway to only include the seatbelt chime and not allow access to the rest of the features? I understand your concern, but the seatbelt chime is extremely annoying and I would love to have the option to turn it off.

+1

Maybe have a warning screen or message pop up for this module. Maybe even a disclaimer.

Maybe I just disable the expert mode for this ECU. I have to think about this ...

Since quite a few were asking for the enhanced bluetooth coding, I have a list here including all the necessary coding values. I received feedback from another user, and it seemed to work.

There seems to be a lot of desire to turn off the seatbelt chime. Are you all just driving with a lot of stuff in the passenger seat so it activates the chime thinking someone is that seat? Or is everyone just driving without a seatbelt?

The BimmerCode app is incredible, really. Aside from a couple of scary error messages that were easily overcome with a bult-in recovery process, no issues at all. The developer is very responsive, too. He says an updated release is due soon.

I would recommend giving it a try if you're comfortable playing with these kinds of tools. If not, wait a month or two for the early adopters among us to work out all of the kinks and then code away.
Do you know what is the difference between this, and the MINI version?

I never drive without a seatbelt. However, I do start the car before putting it on and I don't need to be reminded by some annoying chime every time.

That would be perfect, if you could just limit this ECU to seatbelt chime active or not active with no other options and no expert mode!

I actually have never had it activated by having something on my passenger seat, but I've only had the car for a few months and haven't really been driving it. I want it turned off because I don't put on my seatbelt when switching around cars in the driveway/garage and that chime is unbearable and relentless. It even keeps going when I am no longer sitting in the car, but leave it running while going to move another car.

Alright, my iCar2 gets delivered Wednesday and then I'll be off to try and code some stuff with it. I haven't used this before at all, so could someone post or PM me a very very brief overview of the initial steps to start coding with the app?

Thanks!

It's pretty self explanatory, but in short:

- Open app up and use in demo mode to get a feel for it and the options you want to set. Close app.
- Plug in Vgate to car, start car, attach iPhone to Vgate wifi point
- Start Bimmercode app again
- Choose options and hit code button

It's really that simple.

Damn, having briefly worked with esys, this is a dream! Nice to see something a little more user friendly.

Would you recommend putting the phone in airplane mode with only wifi on? (EDIT: reason I ask is because my drone only works like that).

Keep in mind too that you have to code one module at a time. Once you leave a module to go to another, your new settings will revert back.

Apart from that, yes, it's pretty straightforward.

I also use a f30 or f22 code cheat sheet to help me figure out what some of the entries actually change.

Just the seat belt disable would be great. Eliminate access to the other aspects of that module.

here it is ...in case others want it...its from the bimmerpost forum.

F22

F30

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...8&d=1435767715

I use these as a guide...they should be interchangeable for the most part...basically i search for something i want to change with these cheat sheets and then look in the Bimmercode app for the same script...if its the same, i feel confident in changing it. Whether it works or not will depend im assuming since the folding mirror coding took a few renditions from the developer before it actually worked.

I didn't start the car when I did mine. Just turned the ignition on.

I never drive without a seatbelt unless I'm just moving the car. I want to code it off mainly because of its sensitivity (a gallon of milk will set it off). If I could just code the sensitivity of the seat weight sensor or only code off the chime for the passenger seat, I would.
