Steering vibration above 210kmh

Hi guys

Just took my car out from hibernation and did about 100km, proper hard driving I finished it off with a blast on the motorway, between 210kmh and 270kmh the steering started to vibrate a lot, but down at low speeds no issues. I am running AST suspension with new HRE R101LW, also running in new brake pads from Endless ME22 so car squeaks. I presume this is wheel balance or alignment, if anyone has any other diagnosis I wrote this for a reason, so shoot!

Cheers

Kris

It's probably just a balance issue. Did you get them road force balanced by a reputable place? I'd take it back and tell them it wasn't a problem until the wheel and tire replacement. A tire might need to be rotated on the wheel. This has been an issue I've had many times that the tire shops around here just can't seem to get right the first time.

Sounds like a wheel balance to me also.

Or maybe you got a flat spot on a tire from hibernation.

+1 most likely.
Any abnormality at those speeds will show up however. Even an imperfection in the discs can cause a shake.
If it is a bump in in the tyre from it sitting it can go away over a couple of (warm) weeks. Not always but has for me in the past.

Turned out to be wheel balance and on the front right a small lump on the side wall, he said it might still feel a little bit of vibration but it's perfectly safe, when I get new tires, all will be ok
