255/275 vs 265/285 Tires?

I'm putting new Brixton RF7 wheels on my 18 M2 and can't decide on size. I can do 255/275 or 265/285. I'm dropped a little on HAS springs. Will 265/285s fit without rubbing or should I be more conservative with 255/275? If the latter, do I still need spacers for flush fit?

You'll need to provide a bit more info on your new set-up.. what size are the wheels? I'm assuming 19s? How wide? Offsets? etc.

19×9.5 +30 & 19×10.5 +34

Any thoughts on good fit for tires with these?

Why wouldn’t you do 265/285?

I'm concerned 265 up front dropped on KW HAS springs might rub. Reading on the forums, 285 in the rear seems to be fine but I see mixed response on 265 up front in terms of rubbing.

I think it depends on what tire you get. For the last year, I've run 255 Conti 5P's with a 5mm spacer, which should stick out as far as a 265 up front, and have no rubbing at all. However, maybe the rubbing ppl are experiencing with the front 265 is at the inner tire while turning? I dunno. But if that's the case, ride height wouldn't determine rubbing with a 265 in front.

However, I have a set of Sottozero 265/285 winter tires (haven't mounted yet) and they are A LOT wider than the 255/275 5P's. A lot wider than I'd imagine other 265/285 tires would be.

With your wheels being 1/2" wider than OEM, I would go with 265/285 because I don't like the stretched tire look.

Theoretically, on your wheel, compared to OEM wheel/tire, 255/35 will be 6mm closer to the suspension and stick 4mm further out. 265/35 will be 11 closer to the suspension and stick 9mm further out.

I'm going with Michelin PS4S. Anyone have 265's up front with this tire and any rubbing?

I think someone on here is running these wheel sizes (titan7 wheels, not 100% front offset is the same as yours) but with 265/30 and 295/30 PS4S front and rear. That size seems to work with maybe a touch of camber in the front and rear to avoid rubbing.

If you go down on the sidewall (so 265/30/19 and 285/30/19) the tire diameter is going to be slightly less than stock. The offsets are not too aggressive.

Unfortunately there aren't a ton of tire options at 265/30 295/30. I'm torn right now as I have 9.5/10.5 wheels coming in and can't find RE71s in those sizes. Might just go 255/35 and 285/35

i'm going 295/30R19 rears, and MPSS and MP4S are available on those sizes, no problem, in addition to other options.
it's not available on RE71s or Indi500s, but the michelin and conti's are available, and perform perfectly fine.

Maybe need a spacer to push the front out a bit? Obviously a different animal - but with Ohlins R&T and a +28 wheel I had to go with a 7mm spacer to clear running 2.8* of camber. Might be ok with a more street friendly camber setting though. I run a 265/35/18 PS4S up front on the street - should be pretty equivalent to a 265/30/19.
