The rear lights will be easy to replace but the front LEDs will cost an arm and a leg to change for us MY2016 people.

I could probably get LCI tail lights for ~€500 installed for the F30 but the headlights are €2500 just for the left/right unit and they might need some more things to work. Not really worth it at that price.

Is there any rumours on what the LCI will contain?

The LCI will definitely get LED headlights and tail lights but nothing else has been confirmed. My guess is that there will also be some minor updates in the interior and maybe an improved idrive.

People don't want to feel like they missed out on better stuff. A lot of us got the m3 zcp which is way better then the previous. But I don't think that will be the case with the m2 LCI it will be like the new m3/4 just the lights. I'm still going to get the m2 out the gate.

I don't think much will change for the M2:

- It already has new (bespoke) body panels and bumpers, so those are unlikely to change, as long as the shape of the lights stays the same
- It already has the F20/F21 LCI interior parts (like any 2-series since MY2016)
- It already has an updated (M2-specific) instrument cluster, so that probably won't change either
- iDrive gets updated pretty much every year anyway (usually around July for the F2x range)

My guess is: Updated head- and tail lights and that's pretty much it. I don't expect much else besides the kinds of tweaks we see with every new model year.

Hopefully the early adopters don't get penalized (i.e. can retrofit/update the changed parts).

LCI = Life Cycle Impulse. M2 life cycle is starting + not sure whether it needs already an "impulse". But yes, the 2er gets an LCI, so the M2 cannot stay behind. It's no next gen, so changes are supposed to be rather subtle.

So we'd better guess what the standard 2er may get as LCI: front and tail lights ? Maybe they throw in a Head-Up Display option à la 2er Active Tourer or MINI ?

My guess for the standard 2er is pretty much the same, except for the the usual front and rear bumper facelift. The interior got updated in 2015, the engines will be updated in 2016, so I guess the LCI in 2017 will be mostly about the updated exterior. Maybe some new options, like the HUD (if there's enough room for it below the F2x dashboard).

LCI Updates

It would be cool if new paint colors were offered.

Guessing a different engine is unlikely.

^^^If they make that...can you imagine the VS. GT4 videos?

Those would be/are two cars worth making questionable financial decisions for.

But, yeah, that's just a feeling, you know.
