M2C colors: Hockenheim Silver M2C photos thread

Oh I was thinking the 1M was the one owned by BMW. They have one there sometimes that is a preproduction model that was used to show the car to the press in advance of the car being released. When they raise the hood or trunk the metal is white since they didn't paint those areas. They had the car at MX1 a couple months ago.

I got stuck on the freeway for about two hours this weekend while a bush fire was being dealt with, so naturally I decided to take some photos of the car.

Don’t normally have the opportunity to stop and take photos on a crowded freeway…

You'll love it. I didn't have time, but next time i want to run it in reverse. I didn't realize until
I was on the road, but hwy 80 up to the BRP is part of the Assault on Mt Mitchell bike race I did back in my younger days. Much more enjoyable ripping up it in an M car than suffering on a road bike!

Corner balance, alignment, and spacers 12/10.

Edit to my post:

I raised the rear, now I’m at F-593mm R-597mm as shown in the third picture. Also swapped out the front 12mm spacers with 10mm. I can confirm the 12mm fronts with my ride height and OEM wheels/tires will rub in the front liners when turning at about 80% of full lock. Now I’m running 10mm all corners, no rub.

^^ Gold 763M just work SO well with HS. That looks incredible. The stance looks just right to my eye too. I ASSume you're running coilovers if you just had a corner-balance job done.. which ones?

Ohlins R&T factory spring rates 90/190. 5 clicks out as a starting point. I'll soften up the rears to 6 or 7. I'm perfectly happy with the comfort for street driving. Haven't got a chance to push it hard through the canyons just yet, but taking a few corners the car feels much more flat and composed. I'm not planning to track the car at this time, just too pretty. I've always had coilovers on my past (sports) cars, so this is how I expect the car to handle. The stock suspension is not acceptable IMO. Lived with KW V3's on 1 car and 2 other cars with Ohlins R&T, IMO Ohlins is well worth the extra coin, and by far the best mod for this car.

Camber:
Front -1.7 (no camber plates)
Rear -2.3

Toe:
Front 0.01
Rear 0.12

Yes I'm running factory tries MPSS 245/265 F-12mm R-10mm no rub.

For now at least, HS was an M2c color only - no other BMW has ever gotten it. Will it stay that way? Would be cool if it did!

Fwiw I think I read once that, randomly, HS was previously used on one of their motorcycles. Doesn't count imo but more of some fun trivia.

I need to drive the car some more. I haven't posted in this thread in ages!
