I've stuck with the cup 2 because it seems like that is what was used to calibrate the car, and more importantly I wanted to tinker with the sensors. I'd like to see a comparison of a cup2 connect and PS4S on the Case. Not for lap times, but impact on driver feel.

No waivers down here.
I doubt I would get the Cup2Cs if I lived in a very cold place though. I think they're a no brainer if you are in a warm climate though. Agree with Dave, these were the development tyre for the car so you may as well get the 3 full course meal if you can. Also Cup 2 and Cup 2C are a different tyre so the videos above are not that useful. Love them so far. No problems in rain. Now... the dust from these brake pads! That's another story. |

After reading the following article, I now realize the Cup2 Connects for the CS may behave differently than my previous experiences with the tire on different vehicles (GT350R and Viper). They might have better wet weather grip and durability than other Cup2 tires.

This is what forum member speznazos (or however you spell it sorry) has preached and resulted in quite a number of arguments. Of course he is right. Thanks for that link. Very good article! |

My car will be a garage queen / date night car. While I wish I had the need for Cup 2, I went the PSS route just to play it safe. I do wish they came with PS4S instead though. Odd decision on BMWs part.

I think I want a set of Cup2 Connects for the track. Does anyone know if Tire Rack sells them? I couldn't find them in our size but did find our size that had a BMW Star. Maybe it just didn't say Connect?

As an aside thought, using the Tirerack test data for the Cup2 240 should really be taken with a grain of salt since we don't have any information on the * version of the tire where BMW might have spec'd a stickier compound, or they may have done one of those infamous "skim the top 32nd super sticky" jobs before regular compound, or a whole host of other tuning levers, etc, as discussed in that Cup2 video.

They also incorrectly have the CS as a 2021 model year which is why it's a little harder to find if you try that way |

I just assumed he hadn't seen these tires before and didn't have an appropriate spec. |

I would likely have a second set of wheels for the track. However I do like the Connect aspect and from what I've heard the M2CS was the first to have this tire. I'll give it a rip.

Cup 2's and similar category tires only last about 2000-3000 miles tops in my experience. They are not worth running on a car unless you are tracking the vehicle, or just absolutely love blowing through $1200 in tires every 2k miles.
