So far, in efficient mode, pretty quiet, a little deeper and more refined on sport/sport+. Note that I have burbles off. No 2k rasp or at cold start. There was still the 2k drone if you keep the flaps opened. I ended up keeping mine on auto. Will report back after some more driving.

Shoutout to @spoolinphil. Check him out on ig. Not many shops I can trust handing my car to and having 100% faith it gets done right. 🙂
That's unfortunate that the 2k drone is still there as that is what is bothering me the most about the EL mid (when valves are programmed to be always open in sport mode). Was there any reduction in this drone at all?

if you like some rasp, i recommend the Gen 1 resonated

the Gen 2 resonated might be too quiet for your taste

I haven’t had time to drive it some more. I will report back this week. The drone might be due to the rear seats being down since I had to transport the cut pipes back home.

Reporting back after driving to work today in sport+, valves opened, no burbles. I can safely say there’s no 2k drone. I do hear a deeper sound at 2k but it’s soft and nothing like the drone sound before installing the mid pipes. It’s more of an exhaust sound. That drone I had before would cause certain things inside my car to rattle. Now it doesn’t. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. Makes me wonder how the gen 2 non-resonated version sounds.

Were you able to hear back regarding the upgrade? I am considering going Gen2 on top of the resonated connecting pipes just to get the quietest coldstart, not sure if its worth it yet..

Their email was that it was $300 plus $180 shipping both ways, so $480 cost to me to do the swap. They will charge $1000 core deposit until the Gen1 midpipe is returned, then refund the $1000.

So $480 total cost to upgrade your current Gen1 to a Gen2.

Just placed the order for the upgrade, biggest downside was the upgrade is a refurbished EL from another vehicle- I could have bought a brand new one and sell the used one for probably ~$600 cost to myself, but just didn't want to deal with the hassle for now. Anyways will report when I get it on!

I received a brand new midpipe (F8x) through the upgrade program. Hopefully you will as well.
