Shifting time improvement if any is beyond human can sense. But rather you can feel a difference in shifting strategy which could be the DME resetting the adaptation.
I'm very much inclined to believing everything said in this thread is placebo. BTW, seeing boost hitting close to 20psi is normal even in stock form, that's out of combination of high ambient temp and overboost on upshifting, nothing more than a spike followed by boost adjustment. Log stock tunes and see it for yourself.

i noticed 3 things: (2016 manual)
car is louder on startup car is smoother (not as jerky) car is quicker to accelerate its possible the reset of adaptations is causing this and its also possible the people who have a 2016 will notice this update more since maybe the newer models already have these features |

This might be a stupid question, i have an early 17' one of the last PRE LCI's
the weather app in my car has stopped working so they are suggesting a reset or an update but only to the idrive not to the engine so i was told it won't affect the sound of the exhaust only the sound of the interior speakers and idrive. my car is loud af with M performance exhaust i get all sorts of pops and bangs and crackles, so i am scared that i will lose all this if i update this? can anyone clarify if the Idrive update affects the engine and exhaust? because i was told you have to do a seperate engine update for this to affect the noise of the car which i really really really don't want. |

Idrive and CarPlay much better. Reverse camera when switching back to 1st gear immediately switches off. No more annoying beeps. Car in comfort mode is lot more responsive. Use to have an annoying 1st to 2nd gear jolt. No longer occurs. Terms of exhaust noise... I think it has toned down a bit. I have the mpe & fabspeed dp, on track mode it's not as burbly as before...

Can anyone post their ISTEP versions after getting their dealer flash? I’m about to flash F020-17-11-520 v3.63.0 PSDZ. I was on v61.4 before which wasn’t as refined and then I updated to v62.4 which had the best refinement and retained the burbles. V62.5 did not have any noticeable changes other than FEM_GW and ASD?
V63.0 flashes the DME again and is a relatively recent PSDZ |

I had L17193I flashed on my M2 under warranty. My excuse was Carplay. IF you have that option just tell them it's no longer syncing as well after latest IOS update on your iPhone :-)

A few questions for you guys that are updating your ISTEP software and have done some coding:
Do you lose your coded features? Can I just run my latest Bimmercode back up to get the features back? Are settings retained in the Bimmercode backup for coding that was not completed thru Bimmercode, such as Euro MDM? Thanks. |

Finally got E-Sys and ISTA+ working on my VMware...sort of fun dealing with bridged network. Got my iStep:
Assuming this one is now old...if I have the light PSdZData (not full), can I flash up to the latest? Or do I need the full... Also, saw some codes in ISTA: I'm assuming the ASD code is from Bimmercode (since I disabled it)? Is the "panic alarm" mean the alarm went off? Finally not sure about the first one "Limitation of Connected Drive" which has a higher mileage than current mileage on the car...? |

How did you get this writing in a VM. I sent an email to token master months ago, but never got a response. Did you work around this or did he get back to you?

Yes there are much newer ones no you will not be able to flash it without full PSDZ. Those errors are from BimmerCode especially if you coded your car with ignition on. I always clear errors after coding. I also never code with ignition on now since FASTA and Key Read can be pulled even with ISTA clear so BMW knows all. As for the ISTA+ readings those are in KM so yes it will show higher than your current ones. |
