Without a doubt a very interesting design

I was speaking with David @ AA a few weeks ago about it and there is a lot more involved than simply trying to equalize the length of the exhaust

How the bends change the rate of flow, space constraints, etc.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to hear how it sounds in the near future

Another Milltek video, this one sounds WAY better than the other video I linked. Video on the left is normal Milltek, right is EL Milltek. This has me excited, first video where I can actually hear a difference.

Ah, it's in a private group, BMW M2 & M2 Competition Owners Group. I'll rip the videos and post it, gimme a minute.

EDIT: Here is the video. Clearly not my video, just ripped off FB. It's unlisted.

Thanks for the link. Not very impressed TBH. Sounds ok, but not that big a difference it seems.

I wonder why the other Milltek videos that people are posting sounds different? The one posted above sounds exactly how an EQ/EL system should sound like where it sounds like it's actually revving to 7,000rpm @ 7,000rpm where as a non-EQ/EL exhaust always sounds like its revving only to 3,500rpm @ 7,000rpm (if that makes sense).

2020 will be interesting in terms of S55 sound, maybe it can finally sound right. The single mid-pipe was a good step, this should hopefully round it off. I know I enjoy my custom EQ/EL set-up on my stock exhaust on the M4cs, the exhaust flap switchover that happens at 4,000rpm is money: roars to life.

I recently fitted Milltek EL system on my non OPF M2C with stock downpipes and stock secondary cat. I do like the tone of the EL system but it's just bit too raspy for my taste. I have talked to Milltek about the raspiness, and apparently that is not the feedback they have heard. They reckon due to space restraints, it wouldn't be able to get 2 separate silencers on m2. Any suggestions where can I fit two separate resonator
Here is a drive by video I shot

I thought most of the length equalization was typically done with custom header design?

Normally yes, but here the unequal part is in the DPs so you have to correct it after that.

I am happy with the tone, but the roughness and raspiness of the exhaust sound didn't pick up by the mic. Since the Milltek m4 el system has two small resonator in place and Milltek said they not gonna develop similar thing for m2 el, I am gonna try to fit two resonators myself see if that help

Milltek only recently told me they’re going to develop a smaller centre resonator as soon as they can get back to manufacturing.

I contacted them yesterday. They denied they were developing any resonator for m2 and it might not be possible for m2 to have a resonator due the tight space.
Not sure what’s really going on

This sounds much better than the blue car because this is the European model of the EL system by Milltek that doesn't delete the OPF's
Apparently the OPF's deal very well with deleting the rasp and act as resonators

I am debating if I should wait for EQL or just order the current version of AA MP. I hope they release soon.

They have an M2C in AA for development at the moment (check their Instagram). Sounds like the F80/2/3 midpipe will be out very soon, a couple of months for the M2C reading the comments. I would of bought the DINAN already to pair with it, shame it won't mate to any other mid pipe as its the only quality reasonably priced exhaust.

\/\/ What Montaver said. AA said in the comments on their IG post that the new system should be out in a month or 2.

Check right now, seems we're getting a little bit of a peek at what the rear of the system might look like.

Yes sir!! Follow my page @thehoffmobile for more details!

They just sent me this pic of the rear section! Muffler is tiny and should save some weight over stock.
