The M2 needs the 1M mirrors

Like the car from the front and all the performance specs... But that back end is going to have to grow on me... Very angular lines... What happened to a sleek and balanced looking car like the M5.... Have to see it in person...

Can anyone confirm if the carbon fiber interior trim is exactly the same as the M4?It is hard to tell from the interior pic.
"porous carbon fibre" trim as per the Press Release

I will take your word for it, I trust you know what you are saying based on prior ownership.

The 1M appears to be more hardcore - kin of like "a BMW AMG." The M2 appears more refined in typical BMW fashion.

Some nice interior bits...

- Real handbrake with Alcantara/Leather
- Alcantara/leather door trim
- Driver's knee pad
- Nice Alumimium dead pedal

I think this interior looks clean and sporty...

It's amazing how dated the 1M looks compared to the new M2.

I think BMW hit the ball out of the park with this car... I'd absolutely buy one if I wasn't so in love with my 1M...

Edit: I volunteer to bring my 1M to the first 1M/M2/M3/M4/M5/M6 family shot!

IMHO M2 looks better from every angle save for maybe front bumper and some aspects of the interior.

No doubt the lower wider M2 looks more aggressive, but IDK that it looks better. Compared to these 1M pics yes, but the 1M I see in my garage looks different to me.

Ill keep my slot at the dealer for now, until I see it in person.... or I may just hold off and wait for the CSL or whatever they are calling it.
I shoulda known that you would have an allocation!

I think the M2 looks pretty nice. The front view is definitely a point for the newcomer. The side profile is a tie and the rear view goes to the 1M in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind bringing one home to keep Einser Rex company but there is a certain GT3 that keeps calling my name ...
I agree full bore on that one.

Front - M2
Side - tie
Rear- 1M

Did someone manage to spot the ///M button inside the M2 ?

Or has also that feature been shelved because it's no manual only ?

Should I be underwhelmed at th weight savings over the m4? Something around 100lbs less doesn't seem much given the size differential.

Looks are subjective, but in my opinion, the M2 looks much better than the 1M, from every angle. The 1M is a great car in terms of performance, but I could never get over its looks.

IMHO, M2 also looks much better than the M235i, and much better than I expected from the spy shots.

There are no pics of a manual M2, but from these interior pics there is no M button on the steering wheel... In the PR, you can save steering wheel assistance (and I suppose other features) in the 2 settings offered: COMFORT and SPORT/SPORT+ modes of the Driving Experience Control switch next to the gear lever...

Looks pretty good from the front - the rear isn't 'bad' just boring...I like the interior more then my 1M that's for sure, but show me some REAL pictures of an M2 that looks better then this and I'll eat my hat! They really took the 1 series and said fuck it lets make this thing silly...the M2 got a few too many 'designers' involved.

I look forward to meeting an M2 on the track and having some fun!!

That little 'ole 1M is looking just that... old.

You can see the cues and the similarities and it's a natural progression. As of right now, I'd still take the 1M, though I'll hold my final opinions until I can behind and M2.

We should retrofit the M3's carbon fiber side mirrors.
