Bye for now; but will be around :)

Hey friends, thought will drop in and say a bye to this forum.
I traded in my 21’MT LBB M2C for a 911C2S MT. I got a very good tradein $$ after driving for an year.
This group has been best ever and never have experienced such an amazing forum. I also don’t think there is any other enthusiasts forum like Bimmerpost - so clean with a cool app.

I still have my 23’X5 and will continue to be with Bimmerpost and in WL for M3CS. So will be lurking around.

Thanks again friends… wishing you all a very happy new year ; drive safe and have fun.

I'll let it slide because that's a very nice upgrade.

Enjoy your new ride, many miles and smiles to you!

Congrats. Care to share any thoughts/feedback about the contrast between the two experiences thus far?

Congrats! Beautiful car. I drove that exact car on the track, and it was truly amazing. It's an extension of your body. I know this is the wrong place to say this, but......There is NO COMPARISON to the M2. The 911 is far superior. Of course that's just my opinion, and that's not to say that the M2 isn't also amazing, and a ton of fun! When you play with cars like these, there is no bad choice.

It’s like two different breeds. M2C felt more raw and living on the edge as you try to push it. You need to be careful and that’s the fun of driving an M2C and I do miss that danger feel . I still remember one time I struggled to get the control back and I was in MDM pushing it hard on track.

The C2S is all together in a different league, super well planted and moves with you very close like a glove; a true sports car. It’s how every sports car should be. Super amazing engine, strong power delivery throughout the rpm, grip and tossability. The manual shifter and perfection with which it can launch on 1st and then to 2nd is just awesome, probably one of the best manual shifter I have experienced. Also the downshift is pure bliss feeling in the 911.

Saying that, M2C I feel you get like 150% for what you pay, while 911 more like 80% for what you pay - $61K Vs $140K (mine has Bordeaux leather interior and few other non necessary upgrades, but I got a 2023 for 2022 pricing as Porsche delayed my production). So net-net, if I only have under $70K to spend I will buy F87M2C over and over , again and again. I can’t say the same for F80M3 which I had before my M2C. It’s such a good one for that price and there is NO other second option out there. However, If you can find $120K, without a blink I will jump again and again for a 911 C2S, it’s truly a dream car!

Congratulations! Thanks for buying a MT.

I don't think I can ever defect from M; it seems to be in my blood. But then again, the M choices are becoming less appealing to me. My E39 M5 and Z4M coupe still bring joy to me when I drive them. The MT F80 ZCP that I had before the M2C, not as much...The M2C certainly does still bring joy as a DD.

We'll see where I land in a few years. If I did jump ship (partially - two of my BMWs are definitely not going anywhere) - your spec (2CS, MT) would be my choice.

Nice choice and congrats! Decent of the Porsche dealer to honor the 2022 pricing.

I was just having this discussion with a friend. I have a standing offer to get me out of my M2 ($85K), but there isn't anything in that range that I'd rather have, and I'm not about to drop an additional $55K on a car I hardly drive, so the M2 stays.

Congrats, and more pix of your P-car when you get a chance, interior as well!

This is so true.

Have had 5 p-cars and the only one that felt like value for the money was the Cayman. The 911s were superb but IMHO not enough to justify the premium over the M2C.

Congrats! I’ve been contemplating a move to a 992T recently but it’s hard to get past the value proposition that you alluded to. The 911 is undoubtedly better than the M2 but is it more fun? Curious to hear what you think after a few months of ownership.

Congrats OP. That is a huge upgrade. It could be THE legendary performance car you could drive forever and be thrilled every mile. The 911 is bullet proof.

I have 30+ years of Porsche 911/930 racing/concourse, etc.. ownership. I too went back to a modern Porsche 911 to go with my classic 911 models. There really is no substitute as its on a different level than the M2C in about every way and it should be.
The M2C was fun hooligan style of car that performs in some areas above its price point. Unfortunately its built on a entry level 2 series and its build quality like plastic dash, Dakota leather, etc... was too noticeable over time for me but certainly worthy of its $60k price point.

Honestly if your not buying upmarket then hold on to the current M2C/CS as I have little faith BMW is focused enough on building another little monster with that much original BMW M dna. BMW as a manufacture seems totally lost and unfocussed on who they are these days.

Exactly my thought- 85k trade in for a ‘regular’ M2C? Was this a typo or you really traded an M2CS ?

Regardless- the Neunfer is on a different level, so congratulations OP!!! Enjoy in good health

His is not even a M2C, it’s the OG M2. Consider me skeptical.

Yep, but what if he’s trading into a dealer that has a huge ADM? They can make it look like you are getting a big trade in number but you really aren’t.
