Suvneer states their hood weighs 27 lbs. I never actually weighed their hood, was too giddy to install it.

I did however weigh the factory hood and it rang in at 50 lbs lol. So approximately 25 lb weight loss!
Awesome, thanks! Seems like the bang for buck hood out there. CS hood is just over 11lbs for anyone interested.

The shocks to push/prop the hood up are entirely too powerful for this hood. As others have stated it is approximately half the weight of the oem hood. With it being aluminum it is going to be a bit of a softer metal than the factory hood. When closing the hood DO NOT press down on it to make it click - you will dent the hood with fist/hand prints. Simply give it a good downward push when closing it up. Don't ask me how I know all this

Once all of that was done, I went back to them and explained what I needed to do to make it right and was refunded the difference. Suvneer backs there products and will help where that can. I did a full color match long beach blue and it looks great. Apex PPF and ceramic coated it too.
What work exactly was needed "to meet the BMW Standards for fitment and overall look"? Dent removal? Body filler?

Not much to tell actually. Hood went back into box where its been sitting ever since. Sold the M2 months ago so we're basically going to have to pass this to someone who can source a reputable paint facility and enjoy it.

Hey everyone, reviving this thread Endeav Kazhul tutankhamon

Did you all find that using just one stock strut is good enough, or did you switch to the CS hood struts?

Thanks for blazing the trail on this Monika!

My understanding is one hood strut works perfectly fine

I figured, but I went ahead and got two CS struts for $55/ea.

There’s times when my car is at the shop and track for tech inspection and other people are opening and closing my hood, and I just don’t want someone push closing bc the two stock struts are too strong or putting uneven pressure on one side bc there’s only one stock strut.

Probably could have tested it with one strut first, but I figure it’ll be easier to do the struts when replacing the hood, and to switch to CS struts for general piece of mind.

I prefer to change to the CS struts as well.
They will provide equal leverage support for opening/closing/ & while propped open.

I'm having a little trouble finding the proper part number though...
The M2C struts are 51237239233
looking up the CS struts on a few sites list the same #
I've yet to find the proper part #
Any help would be appreciated.

I had a overall good experience with the hood purchase and fitment.

Purchase and delivery was smooth. They included two truck organizers that I use all the time now.

It's not 100% perfect but for the price it's a very cost effective / best bang for the buck improvement on cosmetics.

Not OEM fit and took some adjustments after paint to fit it right. The supplied vent is a little flimsy and required adhesive to be installed correctly.

The above are super nit picky comments. I'm glad I got this hood versus spending extra thousands. Would do it all over again.

Still currently using stock struts but just have to be careful on closing it.

Has anyone tried installing a carbon vent?

Did you guys run hood latches? ZM2 I would highly recommend doing this since you track alot, and you don't want the stock latches to fail (can happen on aftermarket hoods) and cause the hood to snap open on track.

Yep. That's exactly why I lurk. Had the car since July 2017 and mainly stick to Instagram, YouTube, and my performance shop for car content.

Had the hood for about a year now but haven't seen anyone run a Carbon Fiber vent on the Suvneer GTS hood, so super curious if anyone tried.

I think the one I’m picking up has a CF vent. Won’t know for sure until next weekend.

I might be willing to do a trade with you, if so. I’m not really a CF + LBB guy.

Are people receiving hoods shipped in a usable manner? Want one of these but worried about shipping.

I paid $700 for the hood painted in LBB and the vent in gloss black but I feel they did a ton of work on it aside from just paint (sanding it to even out any imperfections, priming, fitment before and after etc). Finally got the PPF on it the other day. Hood with paint and PPF all-in totaled $2100 CAD for those wondering on total pricing of this upgrade.
iPhone camera sucks so it's picking up weird reflections but zero orange peel and perfect match on the metallic nature of the paint.
do you have more pictures, preferably from far away ? looks awesome and contemplating about getting one for my LBB OG as well !

I received my Suvneer GTS hood about 3 months ago. Immediately had the hood painted and had the supplied vent painted gloss black. Hood fitment is near perfect, after tinkering with the fender/bumper alignment bolts a bit.

After letting the paint cure with the car stored for 3 months, I finally had the hood PPFed. However, when I went to install the supplied vent afterwards, I found it impossible to get it to seat properly. 2 of the big clips on the passenger side will NOT secure, no matter how much force I put into it. Did anyone else run into this? If so, how did you resolve? I'm at a bit of a loss on this final puzzle piece.

Seeing how precise the vent fitment is into the hole, I'm considering just dremeling off the large outer clips on each end and applying some thin weatherproof double sided 3M tape to secure it into place. The only downside to this is once it's installed, I likely won't ever be able to remove it without messing up the PPF around that area. So I'm hesitant to take this approach.
