I'm scheduled for May 25th but I'm guessing that's not going to happen now with the plant shut down and travel restrictions. Significant travel restrictions on non EU citizens ( although I have both a US and EU passport) I don't see travel possible so I'm wondering if BMW will just delay the vehicle or ship it with no EU delivery option.

I think you should call BMW NA in the US and keep digging until you get to the ED coordinator. They are probably the only people that can help you.

Sorry to hear that. I know for a lot of people, ED is such a large part of the buying and owning experience.

I would assume they would just convert it to non-ED delivery. Can't imagine BMW would hold onto all these vehicles and have a backlog of EDs. Would also increase their liability to hold onto something already built for months.

I seem to recall a story back in the winter where a massive hailstorm destroyed many new vehicles that were awaiting for shipment. Delayed many deliveries.

One more note, I would also ask the ED specialist if you can do the whole ED once this blows over without picking up your specific vehicle. I know someone was able to do this where they basically had a 7 series to do a mock delivery and they had a week to explore Europe

As of Monday, BMW was still honoring late May European deliveries - I called the genius line with my production number and was routed to the European delivery specialists.

They are also offering schedule changes to accommodate travel issues around covid.

You can email them directly at BMWEuropeanDelivery@BMWNA.com - they reply within a few hours.

I'm not sure the end of May dates will hold but, for now, it's ok.

I had this same issue with my M240 ED in 2017. Wanted to do ED in August and they wouldn't hold a MY17 from June production till August but also wouldn't commit to MY18 ED allocations until much closer to the summer. Ended up having my MY17 built the final week of MY17 production (last week of June) and they held my car for 2 weeks. I did ED around July 17th or so.
