Sorry man. M2 has the consensus monopoly on the fun-factor regarding small sports cars in 2017. The 981/718 may be more clinical and tuned for track duty, aka more capable, but the M2 is hard-on inducing driving pleasure through and through when either putting around town or pushing it at its limits.

I bet this M2 PE doesn't even exist at the factory in Germany. It's a normal M2 that gets modified at the shipping yard in the US. Just like what they did with 135iS. don't be fooled people!
Edit: oops someone beat me to this theory already. lol

The level of equipment in most German premium cars in Europe is pretty low. Gotta tick dem boxes.

As you know we can configure our cars as we like here in Europe. The M2 PE is just a normal M2 with a couple of twists. Black mirror caps and LED-lights in the doors. Both completely irrelevant.

Although ridiculous it's still fairly good value for money if you get M performance chassi and M Performance exhaust. Those are expensive!

This seems pretty pointless...at least give it some true performance improvement, rather than window dressing.
I have a buddy who went from F80 --> Comp pack F80 and he says the difference is noticeable. Why not go that route?

It would be interesting to see whether they could sell 150 of these optioned as is if it was not limited to 150. Something about it being "exclusive" or a "collector" car. I guess it is better marketing than just letting people select the options they want.

Not sure why anyone would want this thing unless they are thinking it'll be a collectible because the limited units. Even crappier stereo, seats and climate control while taking an already stiff suspension and making it stiffer all for more $ and probably a markup on top of MSRP. No thanks.

As said; we in Europe can configure as we wish and therefore can exclude several options that is irrelevant for this car.
A clean M2 with additional M2 parts will most likely be a similar alternative. If you want it numbered...purchase a numbered badge |
