Good to hear. Do you have a preference on which one you take out (m2 or GTS)? Or do you have a mood in which you pick one over the other? Sorry for the weird questions, but I feel they are similar cars in many ways, so each must fit a purpose for you. Just curious

I got these last week and the fitment is poor. The left mirror cap was probably 95% accurate but the slight offset causes it not to clip in perfectly and I had to do a return

Interestingly, my fitment was fine, perhaps a bit off the way it sits on the drivers side but only because OP pointed it out and maybe it had an effect on me. Otherwise no issues.

My set however, had an imperfection along the bottom end of one cap. So I returned that one this week for exchange and hope to have another one in a few days. But I think for the price it was good value

So folks, I had some issues with the Autotechnik second set as well. One cap just wouldn't fit so I returned it. Anyone know much about the AutoId CF products? They are UK based and aren't talked about much on this board. Anyone bought CF bits from them?

I just received their CF front lip. The quality is impeccable, as far as I can tell, the CF weave is OEM quality. Haven't gotten around to installing it though. They're also quite prompt with the email responses and kept me up to date on the status of my lip.

Thanks for the post. I was on the fence about AutoTecknic and thought about going through IND for possibly better customer service, but seems there's no need to bother now.

Would also like to hear from folks who have the AutoID 3pc mirror caps. Bit riskier shipping them from the UK only to find out they fit just like AutoTecknic's.

Took 3 business days to deliver once it was shipped. There was considerable lead time for the lip though. I placed the order late July, got shipment notification in early Sept.

I have set for my 2019 M2C. I had to return the first set because the passenger mirror cap clips were ever so slightly off so that the cap wouldn't fully lock into place. The driver cap was good. Sent them back and the new set fits perfect. As others have stated the quality of CF seems to be quite impeccable. I've taken the plunge and ordered their CS style trunk spoiler. Hopefully the fitment is perfect--i suspect it will be. In my estimation the reason people are having fitment issues with the caps is that the jig/template that they use to glue in some of the clips must be a little off or parts are shifting after gluing? Not sure but I'm glad they replaced my first set and that the second set was on point.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe they are using the similar if not the same source of dry carbon mirror cap. QC wise might be different. Try to make the cap fit because there's a high chance you didn't push it all the way thru.. (refering to this thread https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...240686&page=41)

My first set pushed in easily. The second, I tried really hard but to the point I would break something. Keep in mind, that by now I had mastered how to take these on/off. I wasn't going to push it so hard so as to break something, so I returned it.

Ok, thanks. Yeah for me, the first set had a defect, and the replacement did not mount on the mirror housing on the drivers side. AutoTechnik blamed me for not being able to get the cap on, and took the return instead of working with me. Anyway, better for me to move on

Its also ironic that you had a fitment issue (like me) and they replaced yours. In my case they told me I need to get it professionally installed, and the cap HAD to fit since they test fit everything. Well, based on just you and me, we know that is not the case. I suppose since they already exchanged once due to defect, they didnt want to pay for shipping again? Bad business
