Picked up new 18 mt white m2-
I had 65k miles on my stripper 2015 m235. Dealer gave me 22k for it...so I took it...only thing I did to the 235 was plugs/radiator flush and air filters over 3 years and 2 tires...there is stuff due coming and I didnt want to deal with it. 235 was bullet proof imo. I will miss the car.
Picked up this beauty 56k out the door after Everything. 7 miles on it. I probably could have gotten another 1k off but it was USAA pricing and 2.79 bmw financing. Stick is taking some time to get used to. Def slower than the auto. But its fun more engaging and the car is tight as hell. This is just a weekender. I have my honda fit now for daily. My 235 was a daily which is why I had all those miles on it. Dealership was hell bent on stressing breakin period-over and over---keep it under 4k rpm....bring it in 1200 miles-which I will of course. Last edited by Bobdaxx; 10-17-2018 at 05:00 AM.. |

Congrats!! Your comments about the N55 in your 235 seem to be a recurring theme here on the forum - very few complaints or problems reported, just reliable performance.
BTW, upon pickup at the Welt our BMW delivery person emphasized keeping RPM under 5500 and speed at no higher than 100mph. Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your dealer's warning about 4000 rpm is too restrictive. You probably already figured that out. |

You guys are not wrong about this being an upgrade from the 235. What a big upgrade this is. The car tight and I mean real tight. Cant wait to get rid of these CONTIS and put some pilots on her. I am trying to get the 1200 miles in b4 it gets cold. This girl will be put down for the winter and my trusty Honda fit will be the goto driver

AW looks so nice on these cars (and e46 M3s). It was a coin toss for me between LBB and AW. I love my LBB, but some days........
Good job. You’ll love it more every day.

Congrats on the M2. Btw, what was coming up on the 235 that you didn't want to deal with?

Very nice, and you got a great deal to boot, congratulations!
I actually read (part of) the manual, and break-in is keeping it under 5500 RPM and no full throttle AT ALL ever don't even think about it until 1200. Keeping it under 4K is a challenge, but 5500 is plenty.

The M2 is the car I actually wanted in 2016, but the dealerships were asking way over MSRP because of the demand / fascination. I saw the lonely 6MT waiting for an owner and decided that if I waited for the M2C models to show up, I'd be looking at sticker plus asking prices again . Time will tell. If the consensus is that the M2C is too "tracky" or not for USA speed limits and traffic conditions , I may not have another M2 itch to scratch for a few years longer . I hope you're finding as I am how much more fun this car is to knock around in . |
