CocoMats..,.

I have them for our Chili Red MINI Roadster....Black Coco with Red Dots. Really looks good with black interior / red seat stitching. I find them high quality and substantial enough that they don't move around at all. I would get them again. Have had them 3+ years and have only a wee bit of color fading. I will admit though I have winter Weathertec mats I'll be re-installing shortly.

Thanks for your input. I'd love to get the black/blue ones, but I know the blue won't match the M2 stitching. Have you used them in winter with road salt? How easy are they to clean? How do they hold up to heavy scrubbing? I also have the weathertech liners but I think they'll be too slippery when wet, so I might try these in winter. Though, at $300 it's probably not the wisest to ruin them with salt and water.

BMWCCA sent me a 15% coupon for them a few months ago, but it expired like a week after I got it

I have the black blue coco mats. They match very well with the M2 stitching.

They are way too thick vs OEM floor mats. They don't feel right in the car.

Yes, they are thicker than OEM but much nicer IMHO not to mention they wear like iron. The backside of each mat is completely sealed. The fit and workmanship are impeccable.

I will take some pics during daylight hours and post. Might be a few days though.

Request a product sample if you're still undecided about the color match.

The third picture is the most accurate color representation.

I have cocomats as well, but mine are black wool, with black binding and blue thread stitching on the binding (they will generally let you customize all of this if you ask, no additional cost).

I use them as my "Summer" / decent weather mats, with weathertechs for winter. Preserve the factory mats for shows or trade in or whatever. The "Furstil" material is best if you're looking for all-weather / salt tolerance. You can hose those right off and they won't care. I used Furstil on my previous car, but then only used them in summer anyway (again, Weathertech for winter).

The blue stitching that cocomats use isn't quite the same as polar blue though. I wish I could get them to re-bind with proper polar blue, but I have no idea where I'd get the thread in the heavy-duty setup that they'd use. Their thread is much thicker "gauge" (or whatever the terminology is for thread) than what is used on the seats.

The weathertech can be slightly slick in winter if your shoes / boots suck. do not treat weathertechs with anything like armorall, and I'd even be cautious of other "matte finish" interior products. Anything like that can and will cause them to be ultra slick. Armorall basically ruins weathertech mats.

Yea, they have samples for $1 each. I'm decided on black/grey though. Which means I'm happy the color in your pics is all screwy lol. I didn't have to change it like I did with David1's picture. I'm definitely ordering a set soon. Probably of the spotted ones.

The heel pad is so ugly on these and ruins it for me - otherwise I think the core concept looks good - but that pad looks like its off a factory floor next to an injection moulding machine

I find that heel mat very durable; not flimsy and it doesn't curl up. I personally like it as a good functional part of the mat....but as they say YMMV...

I don't keep the Coco Mats in the MINI during the winter and endure using the Weathertec laser fit mats....those DO move around a bit and are slippery but opt for the carpet protection they provide during "sloppy winter season".

You can ask for them to produce without the heel pad. It's kind of interesting, it looks like the "Checkerboard" mat has a checkerboard heel pad? If I had known that, I would've asked them to give me that pad on my wool mat. The wool mat just has horizontal ridges on it, and IIRC the heel pad they use has ridges that run from front/back. Over time, my heel sometimes slips forward because the ribs on the heel pad provide less fore/aft traction due to their direction.

On the actual "coco" fibers you probably don't need the heel pad, because the fibers are pretty rough and I would think they should hold up over time.

On the "Furstil" / "Nylon 6.6" material, it's plenty durable so I don't think it would be necessary there either. But, you might actually want the pad because the Furstil (sorry, that's the old name, "Nylon 6.6") can be kind of slick when wet (all depends on how good the rubber on the heel of your shoe is). OTOH, the heel pad itself can get slick at times too, because it's also rubber... so some contaminants / oils can make it slippery.

This is from a 2012 TTRS, but this is the Nylon 6.6 material in "medium gray" (#117), black binding, red thread. This same style heel pad is on my wool mats in the M2. (click for an album with a few more pics of this one)

My car was at the detailer over the weekend, I'll get some pics of my wool mats tomorrow.
