My 2 cents concerning drivers being "surprised" by a short wheelbase, instant torque, RWD, funmobile.

Good news is that this issue is easily resolved with proper exercise.

Improving synapse data transfer speeds between one's sphincter and both hands is easily accomplished by visiting your local large unoccupied parking lot on a rainy day.

Long hold DSC to turn all nannies off so you can learn your car's natural, designed, unadulterated behavior. Why in the rain on a wet surface? In the wet you can experience the limits at much slower/safer speeds.

You will very quickly learn that this car demands quick hands for spirited driving.

Nannies work but they should not be relied on to correct lack of seat time, in my opinion, all these driver aids encourage less driving involvement, less situational awareness, slowed reaction times to impending doom.

I drive on the cheapest tires I can find (with proper ratings of course).

I bought a MY17 BSM 6MT from BMW Germany. Even though the stock car had a substantial discount, I couldn't bring myself dishing out 15K more just to get a new one.

How do you like lifting your toddler in that backseat? It's a joy *cough* to experience every day.

Great... I know what to do now ... buy a new M2 and exercise even more, with water and cheap tires ... my insurer will love this learning approach

I think Supra means - learn better car control, in a safe environment. Sound advice imo
Some people can find a problem for every solution.

Lovely.
Mine is 3 so I get the joy of lifting him in every day and taking off his shoes so he doesn't destroy the interior.

I don't know about that. Kinda implies the driver needs to take some sort of responsibility. Isn't it easier to get a lawyer and do a class action thing to blame Michelin for producing a tyre that doesn't grip so well fitted to a 400 bhp car when you run it down to the wire, so I don't have to admit I ran out of talent?

I read there was an article that Michelin Super Sport tires which use to come stock on the M2 has been reported as the cause of many M2s losing control in Germany, especially when it's rainy. Insurance companies and government regulators even got involved..
That's why BMW switched to Continentals..

Have a look here: *IMHO the referenced Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants case (aka 'McDonald's hot coffee lawsuit') was neither dumb, nor frivolous.

Every.single.time. Trying to get him not to put his shoes on the passenger seat or center console is like throwing oil on a fire.

This week, an BMW instructor told us (warned us) not to put Sport+ on (track), we should use comfort (rain), Sport or MDM instead.
TC in Sport + and MDM mode react exactly the same...Sport + is sharper throttle response, heavier steering feel (same as sport) and TC in MDM mode.

On the street I drive mostly in Sport + (when not in the city centre)...I like the extra freedom of the TC and the sharper throttle response. On track (I visit Nurburgring regulary) I drive with sport.

Sadly, a part of me wonders how many people here genuinely think the crash - indeed any crash - was the fault of the car or BMW in general. And perhaps would urge the family to consider legal action, if given the opportunity.

My M2 crash

So do you have more photos of the side thst got impacted? Doesn't look too bad I need to see the doors. I just got in an accident yesterday and my car looks way worse. Worries they don't deem totaled and try to repair it here in US. It'll never be the same if so

It looks like there's some roof crush there. No issues to your head and neck when you rolled?
