Daily driver. My only car. But my commute is only 10 miles a day.
That actually may be changing to about 30 miles a day soon. Really thinking about getting something else for that commute. As much as I love driving the M2, I don't want to waste it on slow freeway traffic crawl. Was thinking maybe getting a lease on a used i3, save some gas money and add a little utility. Anybody else done anything similar? |

That demolishes the fuel economy...add that stupid 13 gal tank and you'll be hitting up gas stations a lot more often lol I find the only way to get anything decent is a longer trip, with minimal if no traffic...which is near impossible in the LA area. |

I do drive short distances, 20 mile commute each way, mostly highway but still. I do hit traffic often. I am hoping that is gets a little better after the 1200 service. |

That's 19-20L/100KM? Double of my consumption.

I finally got 200 miles this week. I think as the car "loosens up" and learns its fuel trims I should do better. I am sure the ECU is making it run super rich being that it is still under 1200 miles and hasn't gotten its first service.

It's my daily driver, but I mostly work from home, so I don't actually drive daily. If I did, it would still be a great DD. I love this car so much.

3-1/2 season DD. IOW, I drive it all year around, but if there's the slightest chance of snow, I take the pickup or my wife's X1 instead.
Best mileage I ever got was 27 when I picked it up at the performance center and drove back to CO. Mixed around-town driving, I get 21-22. My commute is 4+ miles each way, which doesn't help. I used to run 'DSC off' all the time. Now, I use 'comfort' more, especially in stop-and-go traffic. I think the softer throttle map helps me be a bit more 'responsible'. |

The M2 is our business vehicle, but we work from home so no daily commute just trips to visit clients, entertaining new clients, that sort of thing. We have a 2nd car, a beater for personal use with dogs, WalMart, Costco etc.
M2 works great because it's nice enough that it gives off the impression of success, but isn't too extravagant or showy. It's quiet and comfortable enough that I can take a client out in it and it's like being in a "regular" BMW, without drawing too much attention. I reset the trip odometer for the last tank of gas and got 25.1 mpg, nothing wrong with that. |

DD, all seasons. My commute is 20 miles round trip, but occasionally I have to go to other sites for work. We get snow like in JRF's pictures. Watched a Honda Civic get stuck in snow at an intersection; I drove around him like it was nothing. Snow tires FTW.

I went down to 18x8 wheels all around with 225/45 rubber - extra narrow, better in snow. It doesn't handle quite the same in the winter as it does on summer setup, but I'd rather be able to get through snow than have to worry about getting stuck.
