Is the M2 your DD?
Just curious how many of you DD your M2? If you do, how long is your commute? My commute is about 80 miles a day round trip. I plan on taking it to work once a week, and then to enjoy evenings and weekends.

My M2 is only used in nice weather and garaged for the 3 winter months driving a 3-series otherwise.
When initially used for work, it was 15 miles of small town driving each way, now retired. Some expressway driving for errands. |

Yes my DD except crazy winter days up here.
Abt 55 miles everyday home-work-home. Weekend winding and fun sprit driving. Tracking 1-2 times a month in good weather months. |

I know about the polls, but this way, people are more likely to actually tell me their situations rather than a simple yes/no.

Before I purchase a car I do extensive research before pulling the trigger since I know it'll stay with me.....not jump ship to the next thing like I'm seeing many do around here. |

Why buy it if you aren't going to enjoy it? That's said, I have a kid hauler LR3 but drive the fun car whenever it works with my schedule.
(Only had M2 for 5 days - previous fun car was an RS 4)

Yep, my M2 is a DD.
I've had sports cars before (Corvette, 370Z) that weren't daily drivers that, for various reasons, I almost never drove. They basically turned into unintentional garage queens and then I just felt dumb paying for cars that I never used. So with my M2 I'm "forcing" myself to drive it since it's my only option. In really, really bad weather I can take my wife's X3, but that's pretty rare. I figure I'll be on to the next M2 (or maybe a G80 M3) in four years or so so I'm not worried about putting about 15K miles on the car per year. |

Yes, since it's my only car. However I work from home so why are there 32,000 miles on the odometer in 23 months?

Source: I just drove mine through Cleveland winter and watched a Civic get stuck in a foot of snow that I had zero problems with. Daily drive, commute is ~20mi round trip.

I'm an IT guy by trade and tech nerd by choice. I like HPDEs, parts of US Hwy 129, NC 28, and the Cherohala Skyway. I'm also a fan of aural pleasure. |
