OG M2 vs M2C PCP UK

Just had a look at the PCP on a Comp and was surprised the final opt payment/ value was a lot less than my OG, nearly £4K difference

I assume BMW are expecting the M2C to Depreciate more.

Higher interest, higher depreciation

Also i am expecting more Comps to be made and demand to be lower as OG owners will keep hold of the first generation!
I am really expecting a call in 9 months time from my BMW sales guy with a great offer !!!

Or they have been burned overestimating values for the OG M2 and are correcting that.

Either way, does it really matter?
It will balance out in the end.

It does, over the 3 years I'm paying a lot less than a comp.

Early adopters always pay more, that’s a fact.

And you should be paying less as it’s the older model car ordered at the end of the lifecycle when the market knows that a new version is on its way so has more discount available to the dealer.
What discount and interest rate will the M2C command at the end of its lifecycle when a new M2 is coming? Difficult to know, but that is the true barometer against your car.

I’d expect the values of a similarly specced M2C compared to OG M2 after three years to favour the M2C albeit slightly.
The GFV is much less so if my thought is correct the M2C owner will have much more capital than OG owner will to put into your next car.

Yes you’ll save over the three years, however your GFV is far higher so could end up with less towards your next car.

As I said it will level itself out.

Agreed, if this is the case, I can see most OG M2 owners having to go full term on a PCP deal as they won't build much equity over the lease. Not good news for us OG owners or the dealers trying to tease you into a new deal. Guess that's what BMW are trying to rectify with the lower M2C GFV.
