Huh. So to get the new partial corona ring shape of the LCI LED headlights you do have to get the adaptive feature? These look the same as pre-LCI. Exec pack is making more sense.

Correct. To get the latest hexagon-style LED headlights for the M2, you need to order the Adaptive LED Lights option (in some regions standard, such as for example the Italian market). Otherwise you get the pre-LCI semi-circular M2 headlights.

Partial corona is how I would describe the older pre-LCI lights. So your post is somewhat confusing.

This should makes things easier for everyone to understand:

Non-adaptive headlights = pre-LCI looking headlights but LED not Xenons.
Adaptive headlights = NEW hexagonal looking headlights, also LED.

I guess I just refer the headlight style as corona rings. LCI on the left looks like it has partial closed ring (hexagon) while pre-LCI on right has full closed ring (round with flat top/bottom).

The M2 LCI is a huge improvement from the older version. It's really cool that you get the updated iDrive with touch screen. On my G30 it's really a nice improvement from the old iDrive. Even the semi digital dash is also really cool. Great Job BMW!

I am still quite curious if these euro delivered LCI cars have the new chrome accent piece on the dash if they ordered the chrome on the outside of the car vs. black gloss.

wow, I did not know that!

I think some people are in for a surprise wanting the new LCI facelifted M2 when they did not select the adaptive headlight option!

They shouldn't be it. It's just like the m3/m4 adaptive vs. non adaptive headlights which has been discussed ad nauseam on this board. People just assumed/hoped incorrectly even though this isn't new. It defies logic why someone would think BMW would do something different for the M2.

This was answered here. He ordered a shadowline (black gloss) car and still has chrome trim inside.

Also, the Canadian literature shows the wrong picture, but it is accompanied by the "correct" text which discusses a chrome accent piece.

Overall, disappointing. I am expecting US-bound M2s to have the chrome accent at this point.

Not a fan of the interior nor taillight upgrades. Preferred the pre-LCI tailights better. Only thing of any real value is the LED headlights. The stitched dashboard still looks like plastic. If it's not luxurious merino leather, don't bother.

This is what the official BMW materials have said the entire damn time.

The hexagonal DRLs only come on the adaptive / turning LEDs, which are only in the Exec package (in the US at least).

AFAIK those new chrome accents are stock, regardless of the exterior trim (shadow line or chrome line).

Love the new gauges for the visibility and clean look. Not a fan of the new head/tail lights, or the redesigned interior trim. Thank you for sharing though. This is the best look we've had at the LCI on here by far. Also congrats on the new whip!

Will do this today. I don't have the adaptive LED's (too expensive for what you get imho).

It's not (completely) digital, only the lower part is (except for the fuel needle) and the theme doesn't changes when choosing another drive mode. The cluster is always white, day and night.

Haven't found it and also haven't driven without TC but I'll test that.
Also can't find to turn of the shift indicator in the iDrive. Anybody knows where that is in iDrive6 (if possible)?

Bonus:

Do you mind posting a pic of the full dash. Would love to see how the metal trim around the carbon on the dash look in a fuller view. Thanks in advance.

WTF were they thinking with that new trim design on the passenger side? Seriously? I wonder how that got approved. The gauge cluster is a big upgrade though.

Congrats on the M2 my favorite color MG . I love the new dash, its simple but yet it flows and looks way more thought out than the pre LCI 2 series dash and trim panel.

I poked around on BMW's press site and found these M2 lci pics. I also found some 2er lci pics for comparison. It indeed looks like the bottom part of the cf trim will have an accent stripe depending on your car's trim.

Even M240i LCI got the piano black gross trim.

Glad to see an oil temp gauge has arrived! I can live without M-specific mirrors and carbon fiber roofs but an M-car without an oil temp gauge... I guess I'm old-fashioned and influenced by my other Ms, but the oil temp gauge is what I use to tell me when I can give the car the beans (in appropriate conditions, of course).

Thanks for the post and congrats on the car!
