Loud startup with aftermarket exhaust
Hi all,
I have the AA EL non-res midpipe and the Remus Race exhaust, and startup is very loud. I have the JB4 so I am able to open/close the valves thru the steering wheel. I've made sure my start up is with the valves closed, but it seems like the system is opening the values on startup automatically. Aside from startup, the exhaust flap switch does work as I've tested them and verified visually and audibly. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to this? |

Loud startup is cat heating cycle with retarded ignition to burn fuel in the exhaust,, not open valves, standard dme on efficient mode will have valves closed during cold start.
Only way is to disable cat heating in bm3 etc. |

disable the cold start with bm3 or get a resonated midpipe

That RIIPPPP on startup drove me batty when I had non-resonated EL+axle back. I installed resonators and still wasn't tamed enough. So, I ended up getting a tune that forced the valves closed and reduced the magnitude of the rev. Now the car no longer scares people in the supermarket parking lot.

I have a couple I think from communicating with Enabled as he tamed it. They probably mostly prove I'm a 58 year old suburbanite.
