Akrapovič for M2C and M2 CS:Slip-On Line (Titanium):
"The system was developed on BMW M2 Competition (F87N) equipped with OPF/GPF, however it fits both versions (OPF and non OPF). ECE type approval is only valid for cars equipped with OPF/GPF.
The latest addition to the BMW M series is the awe-inspiring M2 Competition, an exquisite high-performance car that can be made even better by adding an Akrapovič Slip-On exhaust system. Made from titanium – with some parts cast in Akrapovič’s own foundry – this system will reduce exhaust system's weight by over 45% and deliver extra power and lower backpressure. The sound has also been enhanced by Akrapovič’s engineers, delivering a true sporty tone especially in the middle and upper rpm range but without any droning. Carbon-fibre tailpipes give an added look to the rear of the M2 Competition to display its sporting potential. Performance can be further increased with the addition of optional evolution link pipe set. To set off the system to its visual best, optional carbon-fibre diffusers and mirror caps are also available.
The system is a simple plug-and-play operation to fit, and it has been designed to meet ECE type approval.
The optional Akrapovič Sound Kit (P-HF1177) is also available. If upgrading the slip-on system with evolution link pipe, the optional Akrapovič Sound Kit P-HF1177 is not needed - specially developed Akrapovič Sound Kit is already included within the evolution link pipe set. With the use of optional Akrapovič Sound Kit, the ECE homologation is not valid anymore.
For installing the slip-on system, the stock exhaust system has to be cut. Please read the instructions carefully before the start of the installation.
ECE Type Approval is not valid for M2 CS."
Evolution Link pipe set (Titanium) + Downpipe (SS):
"This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use."

E36 E46 F87 has very similar dimensions and wheelbases
the behavior is very similar
we can oversteer in the same way
distribution of 50/50 masses are identical
the evolution has made it possible to increase the rigidity of road holding, braking and comfort in terms of steering precision ease of oversteer the M2 CS is the worthy heir to the M3 CSL
I recognize The sound of NA engines cannot be compared with turbo
Nonetheless these two cars represent the pinnacle of BMW M know-how for sure !

wow all this questions for me?

my favourite are the EL setups or Remus

I know Akrapovic is Titanium, but only the backbox as far I'm aware, It's a good saving weight solution,
But I'm sure I cannot notice the difference

I reckon if the target is shaving weight there are better ways

Do you guys have to remapp the ECU when installing Slip-on Line with Evolution Link pipe set (middle and back end exhaust) or do you have an experience with AK Motion dospley with disable OPF via AK Motion?
There should be a difference in ECU security unit - is it possible on new M2CS dissable OPF via AK Motion still..?
I would like to keep original software so will preffere not to touch the ECU whe installing new exhaust.
Thank you for your comment

Should keep the value up for older M2s and the CS. Sad for the tuning community. Tuning is really enjoyable when that is the path that you want to be on. It would certainly come into the equation when I considered buying a car.

It makes the marginal power increase of the special variants more desirable. Likely just another money grab to force new buyers into the high trim cars. Point being is I can likely tune my wife's B58 x540ix to be quite potent and still reliable, and eliminate much of the need to go to an x50i.

I would think end-of-life platforms including M2CS would already have stocked the legacy firmware and even as they're still manufacturing the car we will get the old build? Or is that wishful thinking?

I posted this on another exhaust thread but figured I'd post it here too since it's relevant.

Wouldn't it be something you could ask your local dealer about?
