Decided to pull the side stripes and rear off the car. Might leave the front fangs though

I remember being utterly terrified flying into LPLA (Lajes)-- there was a HUGE cliff off the side of the approach end that played merry hell with crosswinds. And the winds could be stunningly strong-- you'd get the crosswind figured out, then fly below the side of the cliff, and everything would go wonky.

I remember standing outside my jet (a C-5) and the winds were strong enough for you to let yourself fall back (into the wind)-- you would literally not fall down-- and if you put your arms out at your sides, the wind would lift you back up on your feet.

We watched a -141 (the StarLizard) come in on final-- he bounced HARD once..... twice..... and the third time, you saw the jet start to bank over. Someone pulled the spoilers at that point (which you'd have to override to do in the air) and the jet **POUNDED** onto the runway before coming to a complete stop.

The jet literally didn't move for about five minutes, before they slowly taxied clear of the Active.

That's about the closest I think I've ever seen anyone almost die in a jet-- they were about a half second from a fireball before they pulled the spoilers.

Everyone on my crew that was watching had the same thought-- "Those guys are dead"-- followed by "Those guys are sucking seat cushions out of their arse-- that's why they aren't taxiing."

Yes. OEM 666m and tires off an m4. Suspension is stock as well.

They actually make the car sit higher than the stock 19s, so I need to be careful with the lip. Waiting on the Acexxon lip protector from iND.

That's a great story. Those cross winds are insane for sure. In my 14 months there I had flights cancelled 3 times just trying to get on or off the island. Every time I got on the plane from Lisbon to head back I would pray for no winds that day on approach.

What a beautiful place to drive around in an M2! I had the pleasure of visiting the Azores a few years ago...gorgeous place.

Ordered from Amazon.de since I'm stationed in Germany.

Maybe you can find a similar option somewhere. Best of luck!

Got my rims back from powder coat today.
Went to Dr. Wheel in K-town and couldn't be happier with the satin black finish and pricing for M-flight members was great.
After taking the first photo, I realized I had to knock off the salt from the car. It wasn't pleasant in 35-degree temps, but it had to be done.

Now just waiting for Spring!

They look great. How long did it take?

With temps that low, I'm sure your wife won't mind you using the coffee table for the ceramic coating!

Took a little under three weeks. No rush as I'm still running my winters as of today. Also
I haven't ceramic coated them yet.
