Wow, 6MT possibility changes things for me if this is true. Hopefully this won't be too hard to get a hold of. I didn't make the jump from my OG M2 to the comp, but a 6MT CS would certainly push me over the edge. I'm excited now!

help

Will the CS replace the M2C??? or will they both be offered as 2021 MY alternatives?

Either way production #'s will be low enough that they will not likely sell with any discount and most will likely carry significant dealer markups.

No frigging way the sticker comes in at less than $70k in my opinion..... i'm guessing closer to $75k USD.

If they offer interior color options this might prove tempting for me.

I don’t understand the appeal. All the excitement over a CF roof?

Wasn’t that impressed by the drive either

Had a test drive in M4 CS and M2 Comp.

I liked the M2 a lot more

The lackluster appeal stems from the ridiculous $100k+ price tag.
That too but there are enough enthusiast out there with deep pockets to substantiate its target demographics, whom understand the reason behind such a high sticker price.

However, when you remove such an inflexible option such a manual, it drives those potential customers to the competitors, which I assume is Porsche and Aston Martin for that caliber of vehicle.

And lack of manual.

Now they’re $10-15k less and still not flying from the showrooms. I would have considered an M3 CS otherwise...

But an M2 CS in an actual blue and with a manual transmission will be very tempting. And I hope they allow Euro delivery.

Standard disclaimer applies: marketing geniuses can still kill some options when the car goes on sale.

I want one, but I'm worried that this will turn out to be how the M3 CS has been--just languishing on lots with large discounts after a few months.

Doubt it. Im fine with my Competition. They tuned it lightly, i'll tune mine more aggressively. But the carbon fiber roof is sweet as is Misano Blue.
But at the likely price it's out of my budget.

I have no interest in the CCB. So for me this is entirely about the CF roof. And, hell, I may do that to my competition someday.

If they offered individual colors I'd be tempted. But I find that blue almost as bad as Yas Marina.

I wonder if BMW will put the S58 in the next iteration of the M2 a year or two from now!
Imagine all the pissed off, future CS owners!

Of course they will. And why is that any different than folks buying an F8x now? The new M3/M4 will have the S58.

I would hope it came with other CF bits as well (spoiler, front splitter), and maybe the M performance exhaust also?

I wonder if this will have the standard M3 seats, or the ones with the holes in the back?

I think they will definitely be the M3 Competition seats with the holes. It looks like they will have a mixture of Alcantara and Leather on the seats based on what ynguldyn said in his initial post.

Wow I’d Trade My M5 F10 Lci

“I don’t understand the appeal. All the excitement over a CF roof?”

Well Carbon Fibre roof and added Hp will make this a “killer car” (both by dynamics and performance) ; and reminds me of the Bmw 3.0 CSL ( batmobile ) and Bmw 2002 turbo .

Bmw are going back to their roots and building real “drivers” cars . I love my M5 but this is a great move by BMW .

Cheers
Bruce

I’d reserve judgement until you see the MSRP. Should be interesting to see how BMW prices it.
