One of the most interesting threads / forums I have come across. I started reading and jumped over directly from page 30 as I had a question.
- Anyone adjust the vibration intensity of the steering wheel for LDW (Lane Departure Warning)? |

Hi, friends!
1. How to make DRLs turn off in position 0 and in AUTO position work on? I have so far only turned them off at all, in 0 or auto (return it back). 2. How do I close all windows when I close the car through comfortable access (single press)? 3. How to make that when I close the auto flashing turn signals under the mirrors? My car F34 I understand this app is no read and can not delete errors? Thanks, and sorry for my bad english... |

I brought my 2017 in for its one year service. He dealer identified an error with ASD coding and recoded the control unit. The “latest ISID software” was used for programming.
ASD is now on, and my all my prior Bimmercode coding is gone. Saved seat positions are also gone. I reloaded Bimmercode today. The ASD module is now grayed out and states “no data” so i’m Not sure I can turn it off anymore. The easy entry seats coding is also no longer available as it was described around page 60. I would recommend if you bring your car to the dealer, ask them not to recode anything. I do not believe my istep changed. Last edited by rouxeny; 09-23-2018 at 03:57 PM.. |

I was curious about this too. I haven't begun to experiment with this app, which I got to turn off ASD, but I'm curious what standard or "must do" tweaks M2 drivers are doing.

Carl, did you ever get Bimmercode to work on ASD? I just connected using the Veepeak OBDCheck Bluetooth 4.0 adapter and it gives me the ability to change nearly everything in the car. The ONE thing I can't seem to change is ASD. It simply says, "Code not available" when I choose ASD. Did you run into the same problem? And, if so, and were able to overcome, how did you overcome? Thank you! |

I would email them. The developer is quite responsive when I asked a question a few years back.

@cptobvious it shows a screen like this doesn't it? If so you can just select "off". [IMG][/IMG]

Yes, it's a separate app. Same developer but different uses and features.
Bimmerlink is also iOS only while Bimmercode is available for both apple and android. http://bimmercodeapp.com/ http://www.bimmerlink.com/ |

I bought the Veepeak OBDCheck Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. If you go to bimmercodeapp.com and click on the link for adapters, there's an Amazon promo code for this one that gets you 20% off. Heck, here's the link: http://bimmercodeapp.com/adapter/ |

I'm super happy that I can turn ASD on and off now. I can understand why purists hate ASD. But, as someone coming to performance cars with zero previous history and zero preconceptions, I do have to say that there are pro's in addition to the con's.
Reasons to turn ASD off: 1. I can now use the car as a daily driver and as an all-around family car. Before, I told my wife that there was no way we could ever use the car to do a long road trip - we'd be deaf by the end of the vacation. With ASD off, the car is as quiet as my 328i. 2. If you want to be able to have conversations with other people in the car, you will want ASD off. 3. There's a horrible drone at around 2000 RPM if you're holding steady on the throttle. So, you know, if you're going 70-80mph on the freeway, you're going to have this migraine inducing drone in your ears the entire time. Reasons to keep ASD on: 1. ASD will make you feel like you're in the cockpit of a fighter jet when you're in Sport+ throttle setting and S3 transmission setting. 2. The increased noise is actually a really good shift indicator. Driving on switchbacks, I'll often shift into 2nd and take full advantage of engine breaking on some of the hairpin turns. And with ASD on, you KNOW when you need to shift up, because your ears are in so much pain, you better do it before they burst. When I was driving along in our neighborhood with ASD off, I wasn't really paying attention, looked down, and I was already above 5000 RPM. Car's as quiet as a mouse with ASD off! 3. Again... fighter jet... I suspect that I'll turn off ASD whenever I'm commuting or taking the kids to the grandparents or whatever. I'll keep ASD on whenever I'm doing my weekend warrior thing in the mountains. |
