Test mules usually don't feature a visible BMW logo: either it's missing or taped off. This one in an elevator, on the contrary, sports the BMW logo and features no camo. So that picture was definitely not supposed to be taken and certainly not supposed to be leaked.

The leaked car is an M Performance version of the forthcoming G42 2 Series (if you look closely, you can even spot the M badge on the front intake), no G87 M2.

Based upon the spied thread you created, I don't see much resemblance between that example and these renderings. The rear quarter panel here looks identical to the F87 with its tapered flare. The spied shot car looks more like it has an F80 or 1M fender design.

The renders are nice, but I don't think that it will look anything like that. The current design language is completely different.

These renders are just an M2C with a different style bumper and headlights...even the bonnet is the same

The G87 will look very different

Those headlights look hideous. Since that looks like an mperformance model hopefully they differentiate the headlights on the G87 M2 with a more aggressive version. Kinda like they did with the G80 headlights vs G20?
