Just noticed that the M2 has a round gas lid.

Never even noticed that crease line on the rear quarter panel... LBB doesn't help, giving the car so many different shades to adjacent panels.

I have an Estoril Blue II F30. I was afraid I wouldn't like the LBB, especially after going to the dealer and seeing their sample/example square. But if these photos are representative, in that light, then It's an easy switch for me. I hear/read that it does look more turquoisy in the shade.

You should have waited around for the driver and peppered him with questions.

It's definitely a very unique design feature and I really like it.

It really is strange. As in 'what were they thinking?' strange. Looks like it's tail is tucked between it's legs.

Ah, there you go! It looks much better from further back. This is going to be a long 6+ months...

The rear bumper quarter design in the pic on this thread looks exactly the same as this press pic IMO.

That line is amplified by the LBB paint. I bet on the other colors it won't look as pronounced.

I like it pronounced. If you analyze why it's there from a design stand point, it's beautiful. It runs parallel with the 'vent' and leads up to to wrap around the headlight, to have fluency, making the design language flow from one aspect of the rear to the other.

Sometimes, these design details can't be taken in large context, but analyzed tediously.

No doubt. I like it too.
The "color changes with light" quality of LBB really makes it look like a clear crease when the flow changes.

You will see this line on MG too, that will probably be the second clearest followed by BSM and AW will be the one that hides the line the most.

yes it does, but it's a press photo designed to look its absolute best. the real life photo looks much more raw and unrefined.....obviously it's a matter of taste but for me it is disconcerting how 'fancy' all the press photos have been as well as the videos-----really tough to actually look at the design.

Thank you abstrader for the additional on-demand, by request pics of the car. Did the driver ever see you? Did you get a chance to talk with him?

I think he was trying to be careful not to get photographed. He went into the mall parking lot (which is 1/4 mile from BMWNA) and drove around for a bit because I think he saw me make a u-turn and follow him in. So I parked a little ways away and waited for him to eventually pull into a spot and then while he went into the Apple Store I snapped the photos. I didn't get the feeling that he would have been very talkative.

I was following a M235i earlier and realised one thing. These 2 series (including M2) would benefit so much from a M4 like curved boot lid. Maybe someone aftermarket would produce this.
