M2 CS delivery - USA (MB - 6MT - M-CCB - GLD 763M - Cup2)
Hello All,
My M2 CS journey began back in 2016 when the OG came out. At that point I had owned my 1M for a couple years and knew that I’d be interested in the final iteration of the F87, the F80/82 being too big for my liking. So I had a deposit down securing the first place on our list for what at the time we just called the M2 CSL/GTS. I watched all the news coming through this forum over the years, the spy pics, ring test videos. From back when it was maybe the GTS? Maybe the CSL? Oh no, that's the M2 Comp...is there a CSL coming? Or no just a CS? But is it going to be DCT only? On and on over the years watching all the developments come out and the slowest launch known to mankind. A fun journey! The original plan and intention for the car was to take European Delivery; a goal that I had for over 8 years would be accomplished with this car. I was absolutely gutted when the program was cut. Especially when the reason cited is ‘declining participation’ when this is a partial truth due to the fact the dealers lose a good chuck of money for Euro Delivery cars. An obvious cause in my mind for ‘declining participation’. I decided to move ahead and get the car anyway as I had been looking forward to this car for too long, the trip wasn’t my only motivation! I got my car on Jan 3rd and immediately started working on it. I had it scheduled to go in for tint and full Expel the second week of Jan so I had some things I wanted to get done before that. PDI first obviously which is essentially deleting Transportation Mode, removing shipping blocks, and tire information and pressures. Next I installed my IND cosmetic stuff: Matte red M1 and M2 buttons, Axxeon rear reflector delete, color matched front reflector delete, and black rear badge. I also did an 80mm stud conversion and swapped out the clutch slave cylinder to remove the delay valve. I kept all of the plastic on until getting to the shop for PPF, way too many rocks and sand on our roads. While the car was in the shop I was able to put finishing touches on one of my garages that I had been refinishing. Took it from bare studs to insulated, drywall, texture and paint (including the ceiling, booo!), a polyurea coating on the floor and a natural gas heater. The PPF turned out amazing! Really happy with the results. Had the full exterior done along with a couple patches on the CF transmission tunnel. Also decided to add 35% ceramic tint at that time. I picked up the car the following Thursday and then installed the final items I had for the car, Axxeon front lip protection and Automotive Passion CF splash guards. Now I was ready to take it home! The weather was good this weekend to bring it up to the house, I live at 8,300 ft (2,500 m) in the foothills outside Denver where cold and snow can come quick and heavy and was worried that I would have a hard time finding a window to do that with the cup2 tires. But it’s been dry for a few weeks with plenty of sun, so I wasn’t going to get a better chance. Yesterday the weather was great and I couldn’t resist, took it out for my first real drive and was able to get 170 miles on. What a thing! I love it. More to come, might be getting some nice photos done of the car but am think about doing springs and spacers before that. Further in the future may do a SSK and exhaust. Some pics of the process so far...

Stunning! Love the garage and 1M! That is a beautiful place to drive on the regular. My wife and I have a cabin outside of Estes Park and I look forward to that drive from Denver to Estes every year. We have nothing like that around N Texas.

Congrats, nice work and awesome home for both cars! And as someone mentioned the 1M owners buying the CS's. So true. I've also noticed many owners have multiple cars including Porsche, Lambo etc.. This ain't your average M car for sure.
I think the biggest visual mod is the rear marker delete. The front's ok also but man does the factory red reflector make a statement when taking pics from the rear. Not a fan either.

I recall having my 1Ms back in the day and agree, many guys especially in the US had one in their fleet with other exotica.
As a former 1M owner x 2 can can say that there is definitely a need to get the successor, CS! Great cars Gimme, enjoy the shit out of them! |

Thanks all!
Yeah, I'm really excited! Got it home and got that drive in just it time for some more snow. So she'll sit for a bit now unfortunately. medphysdave CDV delete, yes! Install wasn't too bad, there are two bolts holding it to the transmission (with removable strength locktite), top one requires some good extensions to get to, but not too bad overall. We had some difficulty bleeding the setup after install, I think because the housing is plastic we just didn't have the bleeder opened enough. Also, you'll notice that the new one is compressed and when you take out the old one you'll see it's extended (see my picture). Don't worry, just install as is, as soon as it is hooked up and you press the clutch for the first time it releases that plunger and all is good. Driving impressions; I can't think of a better way to say it other than the delay is gone. The clutch engages exactly when and how you expect it to. My tech friend gives me a hard time about modifying stuff on my cars, the "BMW built it this way for a reason" argument. But we took it for a test drive after and even he admitted he liked the way the clutch preformed after it was done.

In other news, I got to drive that 720S spider that you can see in one of those photos. Holy crap. Don't ever do that...it'll ruin you! hahaha.
