Warranties

Question for the members, did you purchase additional warranties like the extended vehicle, 3 for 1, or GAP when purchasing your M2 CS?

I went with the 3 for 1 and GAP but on the fence if I should keep it (finance guy said I cancel anytime).

Wanted to get your opinions as I'm not sure if it's worth the additional costs as I won't drive the car more than 5k/year.

Only GAP because I didn't put much down and heaven forbid the car gets totaled in the first year or two. If I had put a significant amount down ($20K+) I would have then skipped it.

Whats 3 for 1?

Factory extended warranties can be purchased in year 4 (or near 50k miles) ... no need to buy it now unless you want to roll it into the payments. It doesn't get more expensive as the car ages.

https://www.bmwusa.com/financial-ser...n-program.html

Tire and wheel, windshield, pointless dent repair , missing/damaged key.

For a change I purchased nothing. I've had the worst experience with wheel and tire insurance from BMW dealers and a set of these wheels were quoted for me by my local dealer at $3800.

The biggest question I think will be how readily available will these wheels be in 8 years (specifically the M2 CS wheels without "m performance" engraved in the wheel, as they have a different part number). I'd rather spend the money on replacement wheels and physically store them then buy insurance for the same price.

No need for Gap if you insure with Hagerty on a Guaranteed replacement policy.

I've done both without much thought. My car has Gold wheels and Cup 2 tires because I expected it before December. So now I've order another set of gold wheels and all season tires that should be here this week.

I'll keep warranty because it will address both sets.

Didn't buy any other warranty because this will likely end up more garage queen like my 1M. Got it new in 2011 and it has 12k miles on it. Also, I don't mind paying for stuff on a great car I'll keep forever!
