My Jaguar was Ultra blue, which was very similar to Misano when I parked it near a z4. It's a great color for hiding dirt, and very little orange peel. Maybe it is something to do with blue paint? I think it may be the nature of dark colors. My x5 is a darker blue and I easily see the orange peel.

I would go with the installer that you trust the most. I was told that Suntek is glossier, less orange peel look, and thinner. Xpel a bit thicker and more Orange peel look.

I have Llumar Platinum, which is Suntek ultra, and there is some orange peel to it.

In my research for video content the Suntek appeared to make black darker than the xpel.

I would have used xpel if that's what my installer installed.

Black paint is a different beast regarding what it shows. It goes way beyond just showing dirt more readily. It's every imperfection on the surface from orange peel to PPF seam if not fully wrapped. I'm still glad I have BSM, but I thought that PPF Seams would be more easily concealed. That was a big oversight. I could just as easily removed the PPF from roof and on rear fenders, but as soon as a rock chip happened if feel like an idiot. I just decided to pay the extra to have the whole car covered.

Reach out to advanced solar and tint in Toms River. Donny is world class. It's not N Jersey but worth it. Tell him JP sent you.

Car is outstanding. This is a 2020 version of an E30 M3 to me. How difficult was your M2cs's to get? Did you own a lot of bmws previously? I'm somewhat surprised to have received one. I inquired about the car in the spring of 2020 and I was told I'll receive an allocation. I then received a call in November to spec the car.

I put a deposit down in March of 2016 to start a list. No previous BMW history. Nice choice

In hindsight the only real benefit was being able to collect my car right here in town. However, the extra 100 allocations likely made cars a little easier to get. Originally only 466 were released.

How much, if I may ask, did it send up costing all up?

Just shy of $7k for everything that I've had done.

Paint correction, Full PPF, reflectors tinted, windows tinted, ceramic (car, wheels, calipers), window coating, sliplo installed.

Updated some thoughts. It's ongoing. Sorry about spelling as I did it all from my phone and haven't gone back over it yet

Is it just me, or did bmw consider the brake dust issue when picking frozen gold? My wheels are dirty and the color change looks really good with the black.

You mentioned in your update about not taking the car seats in and out - I definitely am in the same boat. However, I'm worried about the impressions/stretching in the leather. Have you given any thought to that? I'm leaning toward using seats that I can release and re-tension as needed to prevent as much pressure on the leather.

Just order this, and you can thank me after you see how well it matches the interior. Once in place it looks like it was designed for this interior. My SA couldn't believe it. He thought is was sold by BMW.

No problem. I added a thread to the main page. Hopefully others in the same boat can find it useful. You'll love how well it matches and doesn't detract from the interior.

I'm close....300 miles to go, but it's at the PPF shop for the next week.

I'm 250 miles away, and will likely be at 1150 when it rolls in. I figure it's close enough . Didn't want to wait any longer to be able to ring it out.

Congrats.

The BSM really is stunning on this body.
Usually not a black car person, but BSM on my 135i is perfect, especially with black rims with a machined lip.

I got my CS in HS. I nearly had the black, I hesitated and that one sold underneath me.
So HS with GLD rims was it!

Could always wrap it I suppose.

HS was kind of my second to last choice. BSM > Alpine > HS/MB tie.

I like the Blue/GLD combo, but more a fair weather color. Black is just sexy in the long winters dark winters of the north, reflecting the city lights.

I got the same quote for a local guy here.

Minus tint, but discounted ceramic on the wheels.

XPEL 5 year PPF+Ceramic warranty. 3 years was $6700, might as well...
Okay so full ppf with coating on paint would be 6700 with a 3 year coating. And 7k with a 5 year coating and warranty. Wheels I charge normally 500 but I can do for 300 added to which ever package you choose. And that would include me removing wheels and coating brakes as well.
For front end only PPF would be 2700 with correction and coating on whole car with 3 year and 3000 with 5 year coating. I use IGL coatings and Kenzo would be the 5 year coating, it's 10h hardness and has amazing gloss

And PPF would be with Xpel and I would do the glass for free

Gibberish to me but that’s the details.

HS is a great color. It looks so different in different lighting. Pictures don't do it justice. I was originally going to get HS with gold wheels. A very polarizing combination. Probably doesn't show dirt as easy. My only regret is not having the money and space to buy one in each color
