Seems like an ok deal to me. I'm also in Marin and paid about twice that amount in June for front bumper, hood, fenders, lower rockers, mirror caps, and A pillars.

The shop I used did not want to put XPEL on the headlights for one reason or another.

not on the headlights? hmm... wonder why? I did that on my 1M and glad I did. they still look factory fresh.

If that’s for full frontal coverage then it’s a good deal! If it’s half then no!

Agreed. I paid more than that for 1/3 coverage of hood (on East Coast) and not going full hood was a mistake.

Wow! That is costly for partial coverage and yeah it looks like crap after awhile you would be able to see the film lines and any imperfections above that.

Fender and side mirrors included? That’s a really good deal for full front if it includes fender and mirror.

What I heard... Several automakers have been putting a UV coating/layer on new car headlights and it can be damaged when PPF is later removed. I got mine covered anyway but I had to acknowledge the potential issues.

never heard of that before... but even if thats the case, to replace the plastic housing isnt that expensive. If I had to because of PPF damage, then so be it.

Can the plastic housing be replaced on it's own? If not, the headlamp assemblies are pretty expensive.

I honestly can't remember the exact reason I was given, but, like you said, it had something to do with a factory coating/film and heat.

Last year the same shop was ok putting XPEL on our Tesla's headlights, but I worked with a different department manager then. Maybe they learned something new in the past year?

I was quoted for hood and fenders $500 with SunTek, $650 with Stek Dynoshield.

Sounds like a swinging deal to me. I just paid $2,600 for XPEL Ultimate on my M2 comp for full front (bumper, full hood, fenders), rockers, mirrors, door handles, door edges, replaced small OEM PPF on rear fender with much larger piece, and a piece on rear fenders. Excellent job folding over hood, bumpers, etc. in order to minimize lines. Worth every penny to me.

I chose a full PPF instead for $4k with tucks under hood, doors, etc. All I do now is rinse and dry, no more 2-3 hours cleaning the car.

That's a fair deal! I own a shop and that's about on par with what I would charge. Honestly, cover as much of the car as you can. Film is the best thing you can spend your money on!

Do the fenders if you can, mine sure have taken some hits.

One thing I would advocate for is a larger piece of ppf over the rear fenders. I thought this was unnecessary, but did it anyways. In the end it was a good call since that area has just been beat up by rocks. I had PPF on that area for 2 years now and will need to replace it shortly.

Worth noting I paid $1850 for bumper, hood, front fenders, rocker panels, and luggage area/door cups. The PPF for the rear fenders was $250 and did it a week later, so I’m $2100 all in.
