30 sidewall on 265 front and 295 rear works very well, compare the front and rear changes to circumferences:

The tire specs on tirerack are still the best source of fitment information when it comes to tires. |

with MP Coilovers?
I carefully read through each post. Great questions and responses. Though I haven't found the specific answer I'm looking for.
I'd like to increase my PSC2 from the stock sizes to 255/35 front and 275/35 rear. I'm running the 763M with M Perf coilovers set to BMW recommended height (about 3/4" drop). I do not plan on camber plates. I prefer not to use spacers because I'm tracking it. Can someone confirm the larger 255/275 tires will not rub with my setup? Thank you! |

Running 245/265 Sport cup 2's all round which I've become used to even drifting the behaviour of them is significantly different then PSS or PS4S people call me a lunatic for drifting in the wet on SC2's however I'd say they're for me now easier to drift then PSS, thinking of going 244/275 so +1 at the rear just wanted to get some feedback of people who've done 1 size up at the rear and left the front stock? Or if it's better to do +1 all around? Or just keep it how it is, I don't do much track just B roads and drifting

Ok So areas are of my rears are now under 3mm which Is when I start to look to replace. Especially right now I can get 15% off tyres from a well known UK site which is a good discount.
does 255 up front kick more stones rearward? 255/275 used to be cheaper but not much in it anymore. So i'm tempted to go OE sizes and then at a later time try 255/275 for comparison. |

Hi, this looks like the best thread to post this in. I have been running General G-Max RS's 255/275 for about 6 months (great tires BTW for the $). I got a low tire pressure alarm today. What pressure do you guys run? Not sure if I stay with the M2 numbers or the M4 numbers with the bigger tire or something else. Thanks.

What is the best tire size for:
- michelin cup2 tires only - exclusively track use - 763 rims - stock suspension and no camber plates Is it the oem size 245+265 or is there a better solution? |

So that means: 245/265 265/285 275/295 Since there is no 285 at all, and no 295/30, I'd recommend sticking with the original sizes in the Cup 2. |

Note that there are currently 5 different Cup2s in the stock front size (245/35-19) and 7 different Cup2s in the stock rear size (265/35-19). Two of the front sizes are homologated for BMW motorsport and Tirerack calls out one of those as "Star BMW M2". There has just been a 2nd BMW * tire released notated as "BMW * DT1". Similarly in the rear there are now three Cup2s that are BMW *, the original plus DT and DT1 versions. The USA Michelin site isn't useful to view all of these, and since you're in the EU, you can view the sizes and versions on the UK site or pick the site for Germany - they have the same listings. More than likely these are all similar enough that mixability (front to rear compatibility in terms of peak grip and in terms of transient response, i.e. slip angle versus grip force) would not be an issue. However, it wouldn't hurt to match the front and rear versions. I would tend to stay away from the MO (Mercedes) and N0 (Porsche) specific versions.

Interesting. Thanks for the info! But I presume there is no difference between those different cup2s. |

For the BMW * versions, it's likely they're very close. For the MO and N0 versions, you never know what the OEM desired specifications turned out to be...for example some OEMs want a tire that has great grip initially and then a slower wearing compound gets revealed, etc; there's a wide range in what a specific manufacturer spec tire can be tuned to deliver (among all the tuning variables).
