Sadly, it does not. I have been wanting this as well. You have to do the mod yourself if you want it. i think someone here on the boards actually did it.
I'm glad it does not light up. No reason for it to be lit up?? Unecessary since everyone already knows where the gears are.
I would agree. It feels like being lit up would just be a distraction, and aside from the first time you drive a car and verify where reverse is the rest is pretty much "known".
