Mustang has magnetic dampers, superior tech to BMW’s adaptive suspension. BMW needs to get on the magnetic damper train.

It’s not, you are right it is hardly noticeable especially comparing it to other brands. Now the steering settings are 10x more noticeable.

If the M2CS gets the same tech as the F82, This will probably replace my F80. If it gets the M240i system, it will not be as capable and I'll trade up for a Porsche as originally planned.
That's interesting. What is the difference in the adaptive suspension system between the M235i and the M4? I had the M235i. While it was able to noticeably smooth out the low speed moguls, it was not able to always get it right. When I changed to larger wheels and tires it also changed the adaptive suspension ride characteristics. Unfortunately there was no way to fine tune the system. You just have to take what it gives you.
Different suppliers, different hydraulic valve in the damper.

The M version is more expensive and capable of better hydraulic performance. Also, the F8X has additional sensors on the dampers themselves that gives the ECU more accurate data as far as what the wheels and body are doing. Without these sensors, the control system cannot react to all the inputs properly and has to estimate certain behaviors.

They may use the same basic algorithm (or maybe not, there's no way to know), but at the very least, it would be updated to incorporate the data from the additional sensors.
There's two accelerometers on each front wheel on the non-Ms like the 240i but four on the M4, for each wheel.

Is that the sensors you're referring to ?
Yes.

I hope BMW will also update the color choices to go with red interior/exterior accents!

I think the color choices are BSM, AW, HS, and Misano Blue (no LBB or SO on the M2CS).

Supposedly there will be changes to the interior as well, but I don't think anyone knows for sure on that front yet.

I would trade my M3 CS for this in HS with the gold 763M, manual, but please have 446 lb-ft like the M3/4/CS.

That's how I'm ordering mine if I get a build slot.

The gold colour on those 763m looks kinda dull, unless it looks way better in real life

Yeah, that's what I said. I was responding to a post about the cars with magnetic dampers. It's superior technology and it works incredibly well on the $35K Mustang.

HTH.
What's the good news? It's not an easy upgrade. It's quite involved and quite expensive. I don't see any good news for people who want to easily change the suspension out to the adaptive suspension set up.

Exactly. I agree completely.

I think were missing the point with this leak... to me at least it's pretty clear it wasn't actually made by anyone official in BMW. I believe this was thrown together by someone who knows like ynguldyn to stave off our appetites as nothing new has come out recently. The people that actually know can't post photos they take or don't have the opportunity to take photos. The whole I got this from someone in my dealership, it was shown to them is just a thin cover story IMO. In the slim chance that dealers were already being told details about this car it would be in a presentation and this would be a photo of a slide not an actual photo file, zero chance a dealer employee would get an actual copy of a file like this that's pretty much guaranteeing a leak.

Also I'll take this chance to fan the fire a little bit. People keep talking about how the G80 M3 is going to be so much lighter than the F80... But I don't understand why. The 2018 330i xDrive and the 2019 330i xDrive have basically the same US curb weight. Car and driver weighed the 2019 at 3700 pounds and the 2018 is listed at 3700 lb as well, I'm sure the 2019 press car was loaded up with options but regardless it's not the huge weight savings that everyone was talking about. This happens every generation and usually turns out to be insignificant or sometimes heavier.

We have a bunch of confirmations now left and right, and if you look at the spied test car you see the same, but yeah maybe one or two things will change. All in all, the document looks like an internal BMW document, and it could well be a really early one.

Secondly, the G80 M3 won't be lighter, it will be heavier.
