Sorry I meant the newer ones!

Do you think that bigger screw made any difference in terms of the tips rattling or not?

Mine rattles horribly because the exhaust slides slightly away from the midpipe, allowing it to bang against a brace that's under the car. If I loosen the exhaust clamp and push the mufflers forward it fixes it but as I found out today, that only lasts a couple of weeks.

Just get it spot welded on the midpipe connection mate.
That will resolve all your issues.

mine also rattles like hell, and get worser over time.
The dealer took it in their shop 3 times but with a short time of succes.

The M2 is my best car and i like the sound of the N55 with the mpe alot but the start rattle and the low rev rattle are turning me crazy

I've seen somewhere that someone uses some sort of tape between the exhaust and the tips, that could also help.
Your suggestions worked:

I had my 18 M2 in for end of warranty fixes and the rattling tips was one of the issues. I had previously reseated the tips with no improvement.

the Tech heard the noise, removed the tips to see that the noise went away, it did so he replaced the tips under warranty. I had mentioned to the service advisor that others had been upgraded to the M2C tips that clamp on at the end instead of with the grub screw. no dice unless the part number had a supercede to the new design, so they installed new OG tips.

in the couple starts since then, I haven't heard any rattle but I'll keep that aluminum (spelled with one I ) tape trick in mind.

So unfortunately for me it was not the tips or the clamp on the mid pipe section causing the rattle.

The exhaust cracked where the tail pipe meets the muffler. I saw someone post about this on an M3/M4 forum, but haven't seen it mentioned here.

Got the crack welded and no more rattle. The rattle was really bad on cold start and would also rattle while driving at lower RPM.
