ED-Remove wheel locks before transport to US?

I’m thinking about having Wheel Locks installed at the Welt as suggested in another thread, but am wondering if the wheel locks would need to be taken back off and the original lugs put back on before transporting back to the US, to comply with the no modifications policies? Does anyone have experience with this?

I just got back from ED. I spent 3 nights in Germany, 3 nights in Italy, 1 Night in Switzerland and 1 night in France. I didn't mess with wheel locks. I just made sure my car is always parked in a secure garage.

I did European Delivery two times and never even thought about wheel locks.

Just enjoy your upcoming ED and worry less!

Just came back form a 3-week ED trip. To play it safe, I brought a set of locks with me and a retractable gorilla wrench. Installed them at the hotel the first night and then removed them before drop-off just to be safe.

Thanks for the Gorilla wrench suggestion, I'm going to do this as well! I will be driving around for 3 weeks and don't want to have to spend time trying to find secure parking spots each time we need to park. A small investment to save time and have peace of mind to focus on enjoying our trip!

Did you remember which wrench was the one that you used? There are two available, one is the thin wall socket design, the other is standard.

I bought the thin walled version, and also a Tekton 17mm socket.
I left both the provided sockets at home and just brought the extender with me, but didn't end up using it.
