I hadn't considered that up until now; always just thought that I would want the best on offer, but even if there is a GTS I'd stick to the CS...provided it isn't north of 70k USD.

As far as dealerships, I work for one, and you will find out what the news is on this site long before they know. Only way they'll know before you is if someone happens to be getting their info here!
Yeah, I had that point of view too, but looking at the M4 GTS was a wake up call that the "best" out there isn't necessarily the best for me. That's not to say I don't appreciate it for what it is and its intended purpose. However, i need something that can be driven on the street regularly\weekends and a GTS style vehicle with roll bars, pull straps for the doors, stripped out interior, no storage compartments, etc is not built to meet those needs.

i am very curious to see what the M2 CS\Whatever is like when revealed

I just called BMW looking to see if they'd take a deposit on the CS, and was told it's not coming to Canada.
Can anyone else confirm this?

I've said it before, dealerships will know nothing that isn't revealed here at this point. Chances are you know more than 99% of the people you talk to at a Center.

If this is one more of your theories like the closed deck/open deck discussion, it most probably will come to the US.

P.S: why you not posting on the one thread that is actually dedicated to the BMW NA website omission of the closed deck reference.

Are you prepared to eat your shoe if the M2 CS comes to the US ?

If so, start already smelling your socks to know how it will taste.

Both M2 CS and M4 CS are to be offered in the North American market.

That's good news... I spoke with BMW Toronto, they said they had people with deposits that they refunded.
I'll be happy for him to be wrong.

Yeah same here I want a DD car for sure, some extra power and brakes only would be ideal.

For the record: what was seen:
  • body color: black
  • transmission: manual
  • dashboard and interior: camo, but digital speedometer and colored stitching visible
  • engine bay: carbon fiber strut brace à la M3/M4 (which, as we know, features the S55 engine)
  • headlights: new LED design
  • front end: no camo (likely still under construction)
  • rear diffusor: partial camo (likely still under construction).
Anything about carbon fiber roof?

No info yet about the roof.

For the rest, a correction to my earlier post that you quoted: the original German text spoke about heavy camo on the front end, rather than the usual camo tape ("Presumably the front end still undergoes substantial changes, as it was not covered with the usual tape, but featured modified plastic parts" - "Vermutlich erfährt die Frontschürze noch umfangreiche Änderungen, da sie nicht wie üblich mit der Tarnfolie abgedeckt war, sondern richtig aufwendig mit angepassten Kunststoffverblendungen.").

And indeed that camo can be seen on the M2 CS test mule spotted in the meantime (see here).

LOL at all the magazines reading this thread, seeing what I said about the DCT cooler, and then reposting it as news two days later and pretending they noticed it first. One article even used my exact wording "DCT oil cooler return line."

This is a perfect example of how much bullshit a lot of these news articles are - 95% of them are sourced directly from rumors on this forum.

I contacted my dealer who is the sales manager at BMW Toronto and he told me the same thing. Big bummer as I was hoping for something smaller and more involved than my current 2015 M3, yet something more special than a standard M2.

In the same message, he did mention BMW Canada has confirmed an M4 CS, so that is positive.
