So let me get this straight, you guys want an M2 with:

///M Seats
///M Setting (adaptive, steering, and Throttle)
DCT and DCT settings
Merino Leather
Extended leather...
Carbon Roof

why will BMW build this ???

and have the BALLS to make comments like the one below:

Make it an affordable ///M for those who want is good. But come on BMW, let the others (those who just do not like the M4...)
To be fair your mixing 2 sets of opinions.

1 set want all the goodies of the M4

1 set want a stripper (!) that's also reasonable entry M price.

I don't really see many (except lunatics) expecting full M4 features just in a smaller package for considerable less £££$$$$. I think we know this is not possible.

Looks like it is PYRAT 2 for sure which means good things on price!?

Just because it has the DCT lever, doesn't mean we'll see a DCT. The X5 and X6 M both use the same lever without DCT.

The idea of an S20 would have been very interesting for sure. But at the same time, you can never go wrong with BMW I6's. Not to mention you would have had people up in arms about how a $50k M car should not have a 4 cylinder as shown in the really early threads.
The S20 stuff was hysterical. I believe we saw posts of people stating that a 4 cylinder was not m appropriate, that no m car had ever had one, and no car with one would ever be considered an m. Good days those

Wow, alot of bitching over a car that's not presented yet.
You know bits and pieces, the puzzle will be finished soon, then you can bash it If it's not what you wanted/hoped it would be.

If we do look at the picture, and it is a M2, wasn't is supposed to be a more business version also, a CSL?
Maybe a more hardcore version with different seats and then some?
The "budget" M2 was always meant to be a entry level M, with a decent price tag, like the predessecor before it, the 1M.
The budget thingy is not something that will thrill the entusiast of the brand, but looking at how god the 235i is, the M2 should be great, but obviously with crappy seats

They did evaluate 4 cylinders for application in the M2.

We have a four cylinder with Power eDrive and eBoost which can produce around 450 PS.

The seats being standard 235 seats to me being ok is highly dependent on price.

The 1m didn't have the cf roof, a special motor, or special seats. But it was like 46k and a lot cheaper than an m3. Let's see what this costs

Without those features, I have zero interest at a price any higher than 50k ish. :twocents:
a loaded m235i now is 51.. looks like you wont be buying one since there is no way this will be below 56k

And so will it be with the M2.

Does that mean that I have to go for a low cost BMW ? No matter for me if "my" M2 is about the same price than an M4.

If possible, I would go for a full individual M2, including CCB etc and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Why would all this stuff not be available ?

All this is already "developped" for bigger ///M cars. It costs just nothing for BMW to propose this for the M2. The just add marges.
And I want an E30 M3 made by Singer, but that's not going to happen is it?

You are in the minority, that is willing to drop that kind of money on a car that's supposed to be a "starter" M. $9000 for CCB, $5000 for Individual, $3600 for extended leather. $17000 on those options alone.

I'm saying this because I happen to be in the car industry: It's nowhere as easy as you think to do those things. You can't just add extended leather (or HUD as a matter of fact) on a car that does not have it standard. You can't just add whatever paint you want in a factory that isn't equipped to do Individual.

My point is, just because it's developed for the bigger M cars doesn't mean you can just drop it into the M2.

Heck if your budget is so infinite, you can more or less do all those mods yourself. Not saying it'll be cheap, but look at what iND did with that blue M235i.
