Protective Lug nut removal
What brand is recommended for a protective lug nut socket?
I believe the F87 is a 17mm? I may have overwhelmed myself with info when browsing Amazon for the item Thanks in advance |

Just buy any non-marring socket with good reviews. If you're just cognizant while you work it's not even necessary. I use standard sockets all the time

I've read many reviews from many types, information overload. I did see a video where he used a socket with electrical tape on it. I am also wanting to protect the nut, which I think I learned cr-mo needs to be a feature in the socket?

If you find a socket that doesn't feature Cr-Mo in its composition and can cope with the torque, do tell...

The nut will be fine as long as you don't have super human strength. Even then it'll probably be fine. Just go to Home Depot, or Lowes, or Ace Hardware (do you have those?), buy a Husky or Kobalt or Craftsman socket and call it a day.

I bought this to do the wheel stud conversion on my car. Used it along with a Milwaukee mid-torque impact and a 100ft torque stick. No issues marring the wheels or lugs.
