I use this one:
https://smartercharger.com/products/...est-and-charge I used it originally for my old car, but works on the BMW just as well. Has worked great for me for the past 2 years, especially due to COVID and not driving much due to work from home. |

I have a CTEK 4.3 that's about 7 years old. I just bought 2 of the updated 5.0 units since the 1M, CS and RX8 all sit through the winter.

I personally prefer the ctek MUS7002, and have been using it for the past 4 winters with zero issues.

I used to use the clamps and removed them in the summer. Then I decided to hardwire with the ringlets and now it's permanently in the car. I've also had a bit of time to rework the harness so it looks alot better, so the next time I get a chance I'll hook it to the under brace ground and then it'll be completely stealth.

There's only one way you can wire it to the back, and that's to the terminals leading from the firewall in the trunk, one member did it that way and it was pretty smart. I have an old thread of my old setup, still no photos of my new charging setup yet. I will get them when i relocate the ground to below the strut brace.

Hard wired using ringlets under the hood. See my post here too for the BMW charger and extension cable...
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...postcount=1072 Cable is tucked in on the left side of the hood and the plug in for the charger is under the windshield wiper. |
