Hong Kong M2C comes with older 6.5" nav instead of 8.8 ?

Holy crap.... i just read the fine print on my order and apparently hong kong vehicles only come with the 6.5" screen instead of the 8.8 ". At first i thought it was a typo and that the nav option was to just add the function of navigation. I just find it ridiculous that all newer bmw's come with the larger i drive screen but our vehicles come with the ugly ass fisher price toy screen. Any way to just buy a larger 8.8 inch screen while retaining the current head unit?

I believe when you add the optional Navigation Professional system, it will change the screen to the 8.8" one. AFAIK, only the Business Navigation system uses the 6.5" screen. I know that the larger screen is a direct swap for the smaller one fit wise, but I'm not sure what other parts you'd need to add if any or if it's just coding.

If it's HU_ENTRYNAV then all you need is a 8.8" screen and some coding to get it done.
This was the thread back then when I changed my F22. I'm not sure if iDrive 6.0 will change the requirements though (or if the 6.5" is even on iDrive 6.0)

I just find it incredibly bs that a car at this price would still come with a 6.5 inch in 2018... the new a class has a huge screen and can be had in the lowly a250.

If that's the case, it's around 1100 EUR for the F3x 8.8" screen, I imagine the F2x is around the same price.

That's on BMW HKG and the options they choose to equip the car with. They could have just made professional navigation standard like other markets have.

Yea, bmw hkg made the brakes and seats standard instead. I have the 6.5" in my M135 and it looks so hideous. I had a rental A4 while in germany and it had this amazing center nav screen, just don't understand why BMW Germany didn't just make the screen 8.8" and leave out the nav function. Its 2018, 8.8" is the new 6.5".

Youre surprised BMW is cheap? My 2016 M4 was $84,000 and didnt have a back up camera. My 08 4runner has one....

I put a used F3x on my F22 and it fit fine. They go for around 200-300 USD on ebay and on these forums (in the US though).

1100 EUR is a little too much for me to justify a screen that I'm not focusing on tbh..

They last forever and until the end of time or at least untill the body becomes dust.

That and a friend of mine said its possible to retrofit the larger 10.5" onto the F87. That seems like overkill for such a small cabin.
