M2C oil cooler skidplate?

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/f/p...ercoat-finish/

Anyone know if there is a oil cooler skidplate available for the M2C? Something like the one above for M3/M4 but that fits M2C.

Following.

One of our friends' M2C already had their oil cooler puncture today on a drive. The location of the oil cooler without any decent protection from the factory is so poor and vulnerable to get damage.

OE M3/M4 Oil Cooler Underhood Shield PN is 51758054269
Seen here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_9841

The M2 Competition Oil Cooler Shield PN isn't loaded in RealOEM yet; however the visual diagram is the same: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_9841

Someone with a M2 Comp should get on this.

That's ridiculously expensive for what it is.

I emailed Will at Turner but no response on that yet.

Maybe will check with bimmerworld. Definitely need to get one soon or I'll end up making it.

Realoem shows a different shaped part for M2C - OEM part # 51758079566. Item 16 in the attached Realoem link https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_9841

M2C has different shaped part so TMS aluminium upgrade for M3/M4 won't be straight PnP....

They were driving on the back roads and hit a small block of wood. It must have came off the car in front and they went over it, bounced up and strike the oil cooler. Car had to be towed back to the dealership.

At first I thought the skid plate might be an unnecessary expense, after the thread below I now see it as an investment..

He ran over a rock the size of a football at speed on the freeway, not sure it a skid plate would even help in that situation. Good to see insurance covering it.

More interesting is the member that had this happen on his F90 M5.

Btw the Turner skid plate / oil guard plate for the M3/M4 fit our cars.

Same basic install procedure as the IND fall Line . The nice part is you don't have to cut out the OEM parking block to install a new one like Fall Line.

Basically. The plastic OEM oil guard still has to be cut though just like the IND fallline

I just has the TMS guard installed and yes a little bit of plastic trimming but otherwise great fit. This roughly half the price of the Fall Line one.

I for one wanted this on my car since its tracked often, and street driven.

My wifes 2014 335 X Drive M Sport 6 Speed took a hit underneath from a Trailer Hitch Cargo Carrier rack that came of the Van in front of here.

It bounced up and punctured her radiator and Intercooler.

On the M2C this would have destroyed the oil cooler.

Nice preventative mod!

Did you install an M3/M4 version or their newer M2C version they recently released ?

Hmmm. Why did Turner make an M2C model if the existing M3/M4 one fits our cars? Is there virtually no difference other than the price?

While the M3/4 one fits our cars, it's not 100% plug and play. It doesn't have two holes drilled ( just for the plastic) and you have to cut your OEM plastic skid plate (just like fall line) as seen in my photos above.

The M2c is 100% plug and play like all of their other skid plates
