Bmw motorsport reveal m2 competition race car at nurburgring vln #5

Saw the new BMW MOTORSPORT M2C race car at VLN #5 at Friday practice for the first time. VERY different to a standard car with a lot if specialist race parts... here's some photos to pick over.

I have attached more images that are not showing so no idea where they are!!
Also my video uploads are not showing as I post them individually so anyone interested can follow on the YouTube channel here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1s..._as=subscriber as I will not post any more on the forum......just too difficult for a Luddite like me!!.........I'd rather be out driving!!

It appears only the front brakes are upgraded.

Makes sense as that's where 80% of the braking force is applied. So the OEM setup seems fine in the rear, but not in front.

OT - it looks like a new, direct path for the intake via front bumper

Might by where the brake cooling hoses are feeding from. I don't get it - I thought these new 6 piston calipers from the BMW ceramic brakes that we have were supposed to be pretty robust. They must get too hot in track conditions

There could be a multitude of reasons to switch brakes.

Pad choices, ease of pad changes, wanting to run 18" wheels instead of 19"+ wheels, better cooling, thicker discs, more robust calipers, lower unsprung and rotating mass etc.

The OEM calipers are good but not in the same league as proper racing calipers. Pretty sure OEM are cast and most racing ones are forged.

Ducts may lead to the brakes or to the intakes, the M2C has 2 brake ducts either side of the front water rads already

Hope we can get some rep parts soon!

It's impossible to understand how posting pictures is harder than making them into a youtube video, but thanks for sharing OP

Alcon 372mm rotors and 6P calipers fit inside 18" wheels as do the oem 380mm Brembo 4p rears
