Just had her corner balanced and wanted to share the weight - 3,409 lbs - with a half tank and rear seats removed (-52 lbs).

Without any gas in the tank and seats back in, she should weight in at 3,427 (3409 + 52 -36 [~6 gal of fuel]).

Edit: My configuration includes the M Performance Suspension.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Less than I was expecting. Wonder what that would mean for MT car with no sunroof.

Pure speculation, but I'd say you'd realize another 25-30 ponds of weight savings, maybe a tad more...

That's 3409 + 36 (gas) + 52 (rear seats) = 3497 with all fluids and interior. That's about what BMW publishes if I recall. I would think a 6MT, no sunroof car will be about 50lbs or so lighter.

Yours is a bit lighter than mine.

3705lbs with 170lbs driver and full gas tank (86lbs)

So empty tank and driver's seat would put me at 3449, and you estimate yours at 3427 for the same conditions.

Do you have an aftermarket intercooler? Or maybe it's cause mine is fully wrapped in Xpel. Oh my Dinan sway bars are heavier than stock too.

My (relevant) mods:
Full Xpel
Full tint
Eventuri Intake
MPE
5mm Spacers
KW V3 Coilovers
Dinan Sway bars (1lb heavier than OEM)
Wagner Evo 2 Comp (don't remember how much heavier than OEM, maybe 10lbs)
FTP Charge and Boost Pipes

I took my rear seats and engine insulation out the other day, so that's minus ~58lbs. Should put me at 3391 dry.
Different front seats, carbon hood, and liteblox battery will take me down to ~3255. But that's gonna take time, that's $12,000+ of stuff haha.

Anthony1s, the KWs are probably heavier than the aluminum bodied stock shocks too.

I am stock except for the MSP, camber plates and pads, but I think the weight diff would be negligible. I would attributed the difference to a possible device error...

3400 vs 3500 lbs...still too heavy!

Car would be a rocketship at 3000 lbs to be honest

I need to get the PE corner balanced - wonder what the manual seats and one zone AC actually reduce in weight

I'd expect 15-20 lbs in weight reduction for manual seats without heaters.

Start with a basic car - no sunroof, manual transmission. One piece seats like Recaro PPs and rear seat delete are probably the easiest way to lose a chunk of weight. After that, gutting the car off its sound deadening and carpets is the next big win. Body panels (hood, roof) are too intrusive and the bang for the buck and effort is on the low side, but every bit helps. I cannot compute how to get down to 3100lbs (drop 350lbs) without completely gutting the car ...

No roof
6 Spd
3582 lbs

Sparco QRT-R (2019)-10 lbs ea before brackets(60-70lbs)
Aftermarket exhaust-20lbs
Rear seat delete-57 lbs
Lithium battery-40 lbs
Essex BBK-37lbs
Coilovers-10lbs
18" rims vs 19's -15lbs

That's about 250 lbs w/o tearing the car apart...

So around 3335 without ruining the dual purpose of the car.

That's my build over the next 2 yrs.

Stage 1 is battery, rear seat delete, Coilovers.

Stage 2 is the rest

No carbon fiber panels, no gutting the interior, etc.

Are you saying the aftermarket brackets save 60 lbs? Seems high ...

No, I'm saying the completed swapped seats and brackets are about 70 lbs vs OEM sliders and seats

Wait, how is a 6 speed manual heavier than DCT? OP stated 3461 lbs with all fluids minus gas.

Manual should be lighter, no?

Your next big drop in weight will be getting the instructor out of the passenger seat. Will make a big difference!

If you put in race seats you will need to add back the harnesses with either harness bar or half cage.

Nah - need all the instructing I can get. Really enjoyed the drills we did last weekend with the bmw club. PCA should take notice.

Instruction and seat time will do more for you than any mods, weight loss, better tires, etc. I know that is not what your post is about, just had to joke with you a bit.

Good deal! My students liked them a lot as well. It was a great weekend for learning with all the variables through the weekend.

Does anyone know where I can get a rear seat delete that doesn't cost thousands ....I don't want the half cage package.

None available. Cheapest is the Fall-line for $1800. Might be able to get it cheaper on Black Friday, or PM a retailer here to see if there are any forum member discounts. Otherwise gotta make a closeout yourself for cheaper.

There are several M2 owners I know who would purchase a decent kit if it came w/o a cage/bar.

I being one of them...

When I get my M2C I'll go see a friend of mine who will do this proper. Then I'll see if he wants to produce them for $500-$750...
