Like Ric said, they aren't ideal for daily use. They clunk and squeal a bit which can get annoying. I leave the RS29s on for a couple days after each track event to clean the rotor a bit on the street and then I switch back to stock pads. I also install the RS29s a few days before each event to bed in again before hitting the track.
I am really hating my RS29s compared to PFC08. Once you start pushing the pagids hard they will fade and not be able to get into ABS. Doesn't matter if you bleed the brakes, and I am running Castrol SRF. Fluid is clean....the pagid pads just fade after a few laps of pushing the car. The pagids worked nice when they were new but below 50% they are complete garbage.

I don't understand why PFC doesn't make a damn pad for our caliper shape.

I have heard of the Pagids fading when not used with their own dedicated rotors. That's part of the reason I've been scrubbing them in a few days before each event (granted my Pagids still have about 50% left).

I tracked my corvette 100+ days using Carbotech , from XP8-24 and have always had great results....virtually no fade. The car was fully track prepped with monster brakes.

If we're all chiming in here, I'm waiting for Hawk DTC70 to come out.

Good news is it's the same pattern as the M3/4, and that's been out for awhile now.

Bad news, is these things seem to always take awhile

That compound is my all time favorite for big time friction. I used it on all my cars with stock spec calipers with increased power mods.

Here's hoping they're available before next track season!

I'm also a huge fan of the DTC70, especially for the price.

I was under the impressions the RS29s were some of the best pads out there. Not true?

They are, for our caliper. The issue is that the better pads aren't made for our caliper shape. In the grand scheme of things, RS29 are slightly above average, in my opinion. Very good longevity, but prone to fade.

You make it look easy.

Which other tracks do run? I'd like to do Mosport as I've been there many times on a bike since 1980 and know it well.

Beaverun/PittRace is also on my list, but I haven't run the new portion, and I've got to run Watkins Glen as that is on my bucket list. Not so keen on Mid-O. Never liked that place.

And which trackday orgs do you run with, DrKev?

Running XP10/8 with reasonable success. Front is doing way more work than the rear. Will likely run balanced front and back once these pads wear out.

First HPDE event ever. 6mt M2

H&R sports, catless DP, stock boost levels, stock alignment and camber/MPSS. Ferado DS1.11 front/DS2500 rear. Castrol SRF = gnarly awesome overkill.

Mid-Ohio - 1:47-1:49 range on day two.
1:45's on Club course with straight lifts the way the car sits now.

For those with pagids complaining about fade, check out my brake cooling duct thread. For about $150 I modified an inlet I bought on amazon and routed 3" ducting to them. Very simple but effective.

Looks like your GPS is way off. I assume you're using an iPhone with only the built in 1hz refresh.

I highly recommend an external GPS that works with Harry's laptimer with at least 10hz. Much more accurate.

It can be a difference of seconds on a laptime and 100's of feet.

Good runs either way

Yeah I know. I only count lap times recorded by the transponder so it's all legit. Harry's matched. It just lags the data
