I recently had my 18 M2 in for service and it received a software update. Just bought my bootmod3 activation key but came across someone on the m240i forum that got a software update in May '21 and bootmod3 failed with every flash attempt and bricked the car. After contacting customer service it seems they did track it to the software update and he had to have it taken to a bootmod3 dealer very far away.

Obviously I dont want this to happen. Is this a risk for me considering my recent software update?

Yep, flashed yesterday without any issue. Went quickly too using a hardwire connection and laptop. Bootmood3 customer support was great and even checked my software before to ensure I wouldnt have any issues. Really happy with the tune and ease of use.
